A new guild concept for the PUG/Small Guild players. Interest?

EDIT : this thing is well underway. The name is mercenaries of renown and the leader is zetrans. Add this name to your friends list to be added or even more easy, send him a mail and you will get the guild invite by mail.

please let me know if you would even remotely be interested, or even if you only think it's a good idea even without needing it. Same as the original poster, no positif comment, not interested. I am interested in knowing how many people would be interested.

I have a one person guild (me) that I would be interested in doing something like this with. I am not sure how to do it without running into the problems that were the reason I started it in the first place.
I put all my alts in this guild until such time as I decide if I want to really play them or level them up past level 12 or not, I have a couple of capped toons in another guild that I play most of the time.
I am not so much worried about an airship for these toons, though the xp guild bonus would be nice, so either I get more players to join this guild, disband it and join a larger guild, or disband it and go guildless, because I really do not wish to run around with a 5 or 6 next to my name while most everyone else has a 40 or 50 next to theirs.

On the other hand I really do not want a guild of 50 below average players either, not because I have anything against someone who is tiring, but for some reason just does not get it; rather, because I do not want to be denied joining a group because the perception is that the guild I am in sucks. (and if you have been on Sarlona for more than five or six months you probably know of one guild that everyone knew about that had that problem, it disbanded because of that reason).

Add in the fact I do not want guild drama, nor do I want someone I do not know at all deciding that they have had enough and disbanding the guild without notice for whatever reason.

So bottom line, yeah I like the idea, but there are a great many hurdles to overcome before I would do it.

i might go ahead with this. I would like to share the names that i've come up with so far. Tell me which one you think reflect the best the purpose of this guild or suggest me if you have better idea.

keeping in mind that this guild will basically have no rules, all will be welcome...

-freestyle
-solo united
-officers united
-free for all (my favorite because of the double meaning that are both correct)
-guildless bunch
-all officers
-for renown
-renown rebellion
-no strings attached
-no rules

i will be moving on with this pretty soon, but i was willing to get some opinion or input before then

For me a guild name is important. If it's going to be hanging over my head 24/7 then it needs to serve it's purpose but also sound cool. A lot of guild names I see out there are downright boring and I'm turned off the guild before i even look into the details.

On that note I'd like to suggest 'Mercenaries of Renown' or something similar. It's got the whole double meaning in it that you liked with free for all and fits nicely into the fantasy setting, what do people think?

i like the name, i will think about it. The only thing it does not suggest is that anyone can join.

One thing is for sure, i am moving forward with this idea. I will be done shortly. I am exited to see the results

I'm interested in joining your guild, and will PM you. I like "Solo United" the best (because my main toon solos almost all the time), but "Free For All" is pretty good, too. And quite frankly, "Economy of Scale" is kinda awesome (if cryptic). But it might just be best to be 100% clear about the intent: "The Anti-Guild" or "Guildless, Inc."
