You don't have to be an officer/leader to deposit gold, but only officers/leaders can spend the gold, buying a ship and such. I'd imagine it's something similar once you get the ship, only officers can make use of the crew, small and large hookpoints, but as nobody on the server has an airship yet, I couldn't say for certain.

I read recently that those donations can only be used to buy airships; not pay rent to fill hookpoints.
This seriously detracts from the appeal of donating at all, especially if the guild has any interest in buying ships with Diamonds.
Hopefully, if this is the case now, it won't be for long.

Trolling other servers' threads, it sounds like Over Raided and Defenders are pretty far ahead of any other guild, not just those on Orien.

I deposited 5 mil on a guild airship. It doesn't require an officer to deposit cause I'm not one lol. OR just hit 19.
