    Default Can't login to game

    I have tried to login for the first time after update 5 being inflicted on us, and now it wont even let me login. The launcher opens to the title screen, then as soon as the connection screen comes up, I get an error message saying:


    ---------------------------
    Game Error
    ---------------------------
    Connection failed:
    You do not have the current version of the client installed.
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

    Then the launcher (and game) crashes to desktop. Thanks DDO.

    I'm having the same problem...
    Be careful what you say and how you say, especially when you add lib details. It come back and bite you...

    Funny thing here.... I actually managed to get on, after my TDM validated and repaired, and now today Im having the same issue again.... OMG, this bites.

    Well, I did reinstall... and now I get no error messages. Just "Connecting to Cannith..." window indefinitely.

    Which is even worse, because it implies the problem with Turbine's server.

    I reinstalled the game and after the initial and patching the launcher and restart it just freezes, no info if it's patching or downloading.
    Be careful what you say and how you say, especially when you add lib details. It come back and bite you...

    Looks like the fix is: uninstall the Turbine download manager in your add/remove programs.
    Relaunch DDO.
    The download should begin again fresh for you and your client copy will be up to date.

    IOW, make your computer as if it never had Turbine software at all.

    Well, I just did this -- installed DDO on a computer which never had it before.

    When I tried to run the program, I got farther than before -- to the spalsh screen with various toons and an airship bow, -- and then watched "Connection attempt 1 of 20", "Connection attempt 2 of 20", "Connection attempt 3 of 20"... "Connection attempt 20 of 20" and close down. Another try, same result.

    Definitely looks like Cannith server is overloaded.
