No launcher, nothing happens? Help?

So I decided to give DDO another try today. Downloaded the new High Res client and that went smoothly.

When I try clicking on TurbineLauncher, dndlauncher, heck ANYTHING... my comp LOOKS like it wants to load but nothing happens.

All firewalls are off, no program loads... NOTHING.

Using Vista 32 bit.
All drivers/software up to date.

Any ideas?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times already.

is open the DDO folder erase the Userpref file, and then launch. You could try that.

I see no such file called Userpref.

Have done a search of the entire drive and no such file was found.

UserPreferences~configuration file
Should be in My documents>DDO...and should have a .ini extension.
May be diff. on Vista.

looking at mine it has Keymapping in there also.

No file with UserPreferences in it anywhere on my computer.

The program has NEVER run... it just does not do ANYTHING.

6 hours of trying has got me very close to just saying screw it with Turbine games.. ever.

Client in the name. This sounds very peculiar.
So you have a folder full of stuff labeled DND and NO exe file will run out of it?
Are you sure you have admin rights? There is some Peer-to-peer file sharing associated with the Download manager. I'm not exactly sure if they have disabled that function. Or if that would create some sort of conflict. No ad-ware running? How about virus protection? You have re-booted?
Is there a icon in the sys tray at the lower right hand side of the screen? Something you can right click on, and possibly have the option to 'Launch DDO'.
For the sake of asking are you sure the program has been installed? Try to uninstall it(don't actually do it), check for it being listed in the add/remove program list, just too see if it is there.

I realize you must be frustrated or getting there. The only other thing I can think of this second is to try the standard res version. I don't recommend trying it now, but if all else fails you might have luck with that.
