Default Best TWF DPS Build (human, elf, drow) - Post Nerf

Now that the TWF nerfs have been applied, is there a consensus on which build will produce the best TWF DPS? Probably use a couple of Khops with an almost pure fighter, but I want to go human, elf, or drow for race. I got some great advice not long ago from forums, but I want make sure the new nerfing hasn't changed things too much.

    Thanks.

I like 12 ranger/7 rogue/1 monk or fighter. I was leveling one but I think I'm going to put him on the back burner in favor of trying out thief acrobat.

    according to the number crunchers.....

#1 is a TWF KOTC pure paladin (against outsiders and undead)
#2 is pure rogue TWF (against things you can backstab)

After that its pretty much the same stuff that is top notch now, tempests, monster builds, barbarians etc...

Basically the characters that can cash in on double strike with lots of bonus damage got a comparative bump.

I like the idea of being able to make whatever you want, and having the chance of making something completely pwn-worthy or something certainly dismal. It seems that almost every melee build will pretty much be the same, like many other games.

sure we can *customize* our builds, but it's all for flavor now, instead of really squeezing out minor advances in dps.

Might as well click a random melee class as they are all essentially the same now.

I've no idea how you come to that conclusion... different approaches to melee characters yield dramatically different results.

i was just thinking about that. elf ranger wielding scimitars is always fun if you dont wanna do khopesh tempest build of course.

not sure if this would work but i was thinking 12/6/1 rog/rng/ftr

i was just kind of making a random inference.

Nothing *too much* meant by it

I don't side with the *doom & gloom* players, just sounded fun to say

    Nothing really changed.

Aside from a few minor adjustments to classes, the builds that were on top before are still on top. There are too many variables to come up with a clear winner in a DPS race, like mob type, fortification, and AC. The nerf to TWF affected all builds pretty much equally. Use your head and think about the details of the changes if you want to get into little numbers that mean very little in the end.

Anyone run any numbers to see how Dark Monks stack up now that the chance for multiple ToDs is WAI?
