Default Another "My loot is MY loot thread!"

So here is my latest "all your loots belong to us" story. I would like genuine feedback on if I was out of line.

Saw a sub-t run posted and (since I was on my capped wizzy that often solos the run to ransack) I joined. First run I led the way down since not everyone knew how to get to Garamel. We kill the guys and grab some loot. Lo and behold there are some Icy Raiments.

I am wf so I don't need them. My brother/guildies are not in the group.
Immediately I ask my friends in the group if they need, nope all good.
So I say my loot is up for auction. No price set just say make me an offer in party chat. Long story short one bidder offers 75k for it (beats vendor prices and noone else offers anything so apparently not too interested) myself and another player happy, a person in party chat starts running his/her mouth saying I am blacklisted and a mean person etc etc.

Now I am not normally a person that tries to start drama but this persons guild is already on my personal list so I say in chat I don't care. I was happy and the person who bought the raiment was happy so why should I have just given them away for nothing if both parties involved were happy?

Just cause someone doesn't let you roll on his/her loot does not give you permission to be an a-hole no matter how butthurt you got because you thought I should have just put it up for a roll.

If you are in a place where loot you want drops in someone elses name (read carefully)... LOOT IN SOMEONE ELSE'S NAME IS NOT YOURS!!!

If I want to sell it so be it, get over it. Buy it or don't, I really couldn't care less if your feelings were hurt or if I am on your list.

Oh and for the guy if you are reading... When I left group and you continued to talk sh!t just realize who was invited into the next run and who wasn't.

I would have blacklisted you too. It's your loot to do with as you please...and it's my choice whether I want to run with a greedy player.

First of all you are totally in the wrong...you always are!

Seriously, don't sweat it at all Dark there are just way too many jerkoffs in this game that cry when they don't get their way. BTW if I can get one of those discrete PM notifications I would appreciate it. Thanks brother.

    Cool

I personally would never auction off loot in a chest, just because of the amount of time it would take. But, although this has been beaten like a dead horse, It is YOUR loot. Sell it to someone in the party, put it up for roll, take the iceys, even if you are warforged. I have been blacklisted from people who get frustrated I hand a piece of loot over to a guildie or friend, never had an impact with me getting into groups.
Now, regarding the Icey Rainments, I was in a sub run, a monk pulled the iceys, he didnt put it up for roll, he didnt sell it, he looted it....problem was...he was already wearing a set of iceys. It was funny, but for the others who were trying to get some iceys, probably super frustrating. His excuse, I wanted another set in case my current ones break or get destroyed. Now seriously, that is funny.

    have a nice day!

darkrune I will agree with you on that, in fact I had an argument with my gf the other day about that.

We where running Mind Sunder and there was an item pulled, that I offered to her first, and she being the sweet, adorable, good person that she is, tells me, that I should put it up for roll and she'll roll for it, and I told her no, here it's yours, I pulled it and I decide what to do with it.

Granted I normally run stuff, or FARM for ingredients with "friends", or guildmates, cause I know that it will either be put up for roll, or straight given to me. If I need it, same thing, it goes over, or put for roll between like we say "Friends and family".

Pugs need to understand that there are no rules set in stone, to how you play this game, if they where, then well. Looting would be very different, and if a guild wants to blacklist you for that, I would also be interested in seeing who should be avoided as playing friends, cause unless they pay my game, they are not going to tell me, how to play it, or what to do with it.

I see nothing wrong with you asking siblings/friends/guildies if they have a need for the item..
However, i find it deplorable that once you found that you and your associates had no need of the item you put it up for auction..
I take it that if someone in the group needed but couldn't afford it, it would've just gone to a vendor? considering it cannot be traded outside of the box..

I for one will never auction anything in my loot list that i have no need for or cannot trade to one of my Alts that have a need for the item..
(I refer only to items that are Bind on Pick up)

If anyone else agrees with Darkrune on this matter, please add me to /squelch

Were you right in selling your drop? Whatever - you do what you want with your loot.
Was the guy right in blacklisting you? Whatever - he does what he wants with his blacklist.
Was he right in complaining and accusing you about it? No, I don't think so. Are you right in complaining and accusing him about it? No, I don't think so either.

I had this elf wizard roll against me - while I was on a barb - on Madstone boots. Just me and him. He wanted it for the Potency VII. He wasn't a melee wizard. He won the roll, and the puller passed them to him. But I didn't say anything - just blacklisted and went on with my day. No point getting upset because of idiots - otherwise you would go around being upset all the time.

It only leads to things such as this thread ....

Get some guildies and friends to help you out, then there wouldn't ever be any issues or whiners ...

I think that putting an item up for /roll and then deciding you don't like the winner of that /roll is a truly crappy move.

I think that putting an item up for /roll and then canceling that /roll because soemone offers you some gold is a truly crappy move.

I think that putting an item up for /roll and then canceling that /roll because you realized, "Oh, wait, I AM on my caster, so I DO want that item..." is just fine.

I think that putting an item up for auction is just fine as long as you didn't offer it up for /roll first and as long as you actually take the best offer (you get to decide which offer is "best" obviously).

I just expect that people who always put their loot up for auction or who always pass their loot to friends/guildies won't roll when other people do put their loot up for /roll. After all, if you're never going to "give a penny", then why would you "take a penny" from that little dish at the cash register?

I don't see that you offended any of my sensibilities with your actions. If you did do any of these things, I would be irritated and I would lose respect for you. If that is a significant factor in your decision making, then that's fine. If that isn't a significant factor in your decision making, that's fine too!
