    Exclamation "Error reading configuration file"

So, once upon a time long ago I downloaded DDO and played it briefly for a week or so. I liked the game, but circumstances caused me to have to remove the game from my computer, as I needed the space, and other people in my house aren't so... fond of D&D.

Now I want to play it again on my new machine, and when I try and run the installer (I've downloaded both versions multiple times), I get the error message "Error reading configuration file". I've searched and searched, and I can't find a solution. I've tried running in compatibility mode for XP, no dice. Tried right-clicking and running as administrator, still nothing. I'd really like to play this game, but if I can't get it installed, then... I don't know.

    Here are my system specs:
    Windows 7 32-bit
    Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz
    4.00 GB RAM
    Nvidia GTX260

Well nevermind. I just set my other computer to download the install files last night. I've burned them to a DVD and am using them now. Still, this is a problem that should be looked into. I'm not the only one getting this error, (there was another older thread that I found via Google where others were getting this error and others similar to it) yet nobody has found a solution. To be honest, I think the easiest thing would just be to make the files available for direct download without this Pando download accelerator (which I think may be the cause of this problem) for those of us who can't use it.

    Angry Same problem here

I am currently experiencing the same problem. There used to be direct download links but I cannot seem to find them anymore..

My difference is I am running Windows 7 64bit and 8 GB of Ram and my video Card has 1GB of ram onboard.

I used to play on this same computer but I replaced my hard drives and had to re-install everything. DDO is the only program giving me any grief. I want to play but if I cannot get it to work I am going to have to CANCEl my account.

    Jesus Christ, that's a lot.

You could try what I did: download the install client on a different computer and burn it to a DVD or copy it to a flash drive, then install it from there onto your new computer. The compatibility issue seems to be with this Pando garbage, and once you can get past that, then you can do whatever.
