    Default Wizard Summoner Build?

Hi I recently got to lv 17 and grabbed the summon monster IX, and I gotta say wow! he is such a good asset to me when i solo in Vale of Twilight, and then it got me thinking, would a summoner build work in tandem with the fail master, erm I meant pale master summon (at least just the knight) and the adamantine companion, do you guys think it would work to do some solo content (Oh and toss a henchmen by the side for more minions )

I heard that in the next update they will add the feat that nehances summons (and charmed ones to from what I heard)

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. I know very well summons and minions are not that good in groups (especially that adamantine defender lol) but i just wanted a solo build that is not combat oriented (because i have like 10+4 str atm).

    No.

You can only have 1 summon at a time, for one.

Secondly, the Hezrou, by far the best summon, actually stops being useful after the Vale. In Amrath, he's not so good, and in raids and epics, he's more of a liability, since the halflings can't see where they're going!

I thought I read that summoned monsters, undead, and companions are all independent and can be summoned together. That isn't true?

Yeah ive seen people with both a summon and a skeleton. and besides you missed the point entirely, i meant for solo only, not raids, the halflings not seeing point is moot.

    Companions aren't summons.

You can have an undead and a hezrou, but two useless things doesn't make one useful thing necessarily.

    It's true.

You can summon a Hezrou, a Adamantine Companion, and a Skeletal Knight, plus one clicky summons, like a hardened earth elemental. They are all on seperate timers.

You just can't do two adamantine companions, and two summon spells.

Dragonmark of Making allows for Companions, but is strictly for humans. I figured an extra feat you get for being human won't cut into your build much of course going all three would make you a good healer for forged. You have the self sufficiency feat you can take as a Forged though true enough.

The iron companions have wizard repair I and II or warforged mechanics I and II (same as wizard repair) as one of the many prereq. save that feat for something more useful.

As far as I can tell, the Summon Monster I - IX are useful diversions, nothing more.

Although the Hezrou DOES have a tight ass...

Clicky and summon are the same.

If you want lots of pets you need charm monster mass, but since HP goes up much faster than damage does even they stop being useful pretty quickly.

The Augment Summon feat will supposedly affect all pets, summons, hirelings, and charmed monsters.

So, to maxmize its effect: Adamantine companion (even though i hate these guys. If we coudl make them NOT cast Grease whenever they pleased maybe they'd be somewhat useful), Pale Master Skeleton pet of your choice, Summon Monster of your choice, One of More hirelings (Store bought means you can have up to 5 at once!), and Mass charm monster/Mass suggestion.

I don't know how viable this will be, but i do love the idea of having your own personal army at your command. For best effect, stick a few AoE buffs or cheap single target buffs on your list, to make your pets more viable (Dunno if it works on charms, though I'm not sure you'd want it to)

As a 18 Wiz / 2 Rog (Pale Master III) character, I can say:

    (1) You CAN have a Pale Master Skeleton Knight and a Summon Monster IX Hezrou at the same time.

    (2) When soloing, I sneak and hide. Having two gigantic monsters stomping around behind me is incredibly useful. They are great for gathering trash up for a convenient Wail of the Banshee.

    (3) I am not certain if you can have an Iron Companion and a Summon Monster up at the same time, it's been a while since I've played my Mark of Making sorcerer, and they've changed the rules on that a couple of times. For a while, right after Free to Play went live, he could have 3 pets up simultaneously.

    (4) The upgrades to the Skeleton Knights will probably make them quite nice. I am not as enthused with the Skeleton Magi (******** AI) or the archers (Is there a point to them?)

    (5) Let's not forget Symbol of Persuasion.
