Default Eberron Mechanic Union (EMU) meeting

    Eberron Chapter

    Valued Members:

This month starts the beginning of a new chapter in Eberron. In the coming week we will grasp our opportunity of greatness. The springers of traps, dealers of death, grab your wrenches and follow me.

    And onto the meeting:

    The reading of Minutes:
Today marks the first EMU meeting so I will forgo the usual reading of the minutes from the previous meeting due to a lack of a previous meeting.

    Old Business
    None, see above.

    New Business
    I. Formation of the EMU, by me the presiding, standing, overbearing, micromanaging, supreme chancellor of the Eberron Mechanic Union. You're welcome. Thank you for your congratulations, but this meeting needs to continue.

II. June 28th, 2010. The big day. Our coming out, if you will. We are at the end of history, the end of time. A new dawn and all that.

    Areas of interest/Concern
    I. Discrimination: Many people out there believe that we are gimps. Please let your brothers know about any discrimination reports so we can educate the ignorant and fight the oppression.
II. Type casting: We are not just trap monkeys or assassins. We need to spread the word out there that we too can carry our own. They will tremble before our repeaters.

    New Members
Interested members apply within. If you are tired of the discrimination being suffered by your fellow mechanics, now is your chance to bind together. Sign up below. Strength in numbers muchachos.

    Special Thanks
I would like to give special thanks to XX. You are my muse and you make me pee.

    Meeting adjured
Until next time, goodnight you princes of danger, you nimble kings of Bolts, three at a time.

    Trouper (Ghallanda)

And THAT'S why it's never a good idea to mix "Underfoot Triple-Bock" with "Double-Brewed Double-Stout Dwarven Ale."

Well done! That's pretty impressive work; you need to post more.

This is all distracting and painful for my post bender brain, we need to stay on point. I need numbers because first you get the numbers and then you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

We have an agenda to push and spirits to crush. I also need new business for the next meeting. Maybe next week will supply a bit of that.

They call me a gimp, but when they can't open the GH Mindflayer chest, they just call me. :P

When you've got a +51 mod for traps and locks, it's hard not to get bored, especially while still so far away from 20.

Concerning warforged: Shall we lobby for the legalization of public tinkering?

I think pubic tinkering is something that should be kept in the home, either with loved ones or solo, or a trained medical professional.

We might have to come to some agreements on where to draw various lines, Maxallu. I'd hate to have a turf war on our hands between R.O.G.U.E. and E.M.U. "Nice meeting hall you've got here. It'd be a shame if anything were to happen to it" and all that.

Some designated areas can be mapped out, or perhaps an alliance of some sort. I'm always looking for good (read 'bad') people to put in positions of dominance... errr, I mean 'authority'. I'm sure we can work something out that will be mutually beneficial.

Are you using Skull and Crossbones imagery intentionally or out of ignorance?

LOL Wut? Obviously I am using this imagery purely to annoy certain Canadians who are sympathetic to the mistreatment of pirates everywhere.

"In fraternal usage, the skull and crossbones - along with full skeletons and the skull alone - are a very common motif due to their common association with death. The significance of these symbols vary from group to group. For some, they are a symbolic reminder of mortality. For others, the symbol has a religious reference (as with the Masonic Knights Templar, for which the skull and bones symbolize Golgotha, the place of Jesus' crucifixion). Another common fraternal use is one of warning wherein the skull and crossbones symbolize a dire warning against betraying the group's secrets and/or failing to keep one's oath."

I have no idea what the tools are supposed to symbolize. Perhaps a safety warning? Safety first is a solid practice. You know, measure once and cut twice and all that stuff we learned in shop class as small children?

If it is Public tinkering, then it must be done in public. I think that was what they ment. Personaly, i do my tinkering in the back room of the pub.

While i completly agree that we should ally with our brothers in the R.O.G.U.E., i would like to point out that with our superior trapmaking abilities, it wouldn't be OUR meating hall that got burned down. Granted, they might all shiv us in our sleep, but our hall would still be intact.

P.S.: While it would make a certin amount of sense, and while i know this will upset some of our members, can we PLEASE make it that we dont have a freaking emu as our offical guild animal?

I've been running a mechanic rogue for the past month or so and nobody has realized it.
Guess that's what I get for going Str-based Khopesh.
Though I will carry repeaters as a ranged weapon backup (found a couple decent ones so far), I'll be trying to focus primarily on the traps. Maybe craft a Trap the Soul Repeater so I can do that myself.

YES! Might only be a backup weapon, but a crossbow with trap the soul clickies would be awesome (assuming it worked).

Speaking of trap the soul, I have made a silght correction to my earlier stance that needing a soul for traps is stuipd. Seems that it dont need a very large, special elemental in order for a strong soul gem, the ones in vale of twilight are plenty strong enough. Of course it takes (i havent personaly checked this) 100,000 dragonshards in order to MAKE a average which is needed for a strong soul gem, but i know some people have millions of them.

Seriously starting to think that it might be currently cost prohibitive to bother with the strongest traps. Yes the range is awesome, and the damage is 10d6 higher, but it takes something like 125 trap pieces (would take hours at even mid level), 200 syb dshards (not even going to worry about this), and 100,000 khyber dragonshards converted and applied to a higher level elemental by another player (that prob wants payment). All for 5 one-time traps that wont instakill anything above level 10.

Thanks for the interest. I will bring some of this up for the next meeting, which will be soon. Most likely Tuesday so we all get one day of the new mod.

See y'all Tuesday night's meeting. FREE BEER! (BYOB)

Aim true brothers, three at a time.
