Default Shoot the noob if needed; (Another WF Fighter/Wiz Build Question)

I've gone back several pages in the WF and Multiclass forums, and haven't found anything that suits my purpose, and I'm hoping you guys can help.

Is there a good 32 WF Fighter/Wizzy Multiclass out there?

I'm sure this has been asked everyother day of the week, but I recently found out I could access the Forum via DDO after a long period of not remembering my log-in.

Any help on this subject would be glorious, and would make a noob very happy.

P.S. If I'm crazy and a WF Fighter/Wizzy is a silly idea, then what about an 18 Barb/2 Fighter with 11 INT (Will use +2 tome to make 13 for Combat Expertise) and full CON and STR to get improved trip and stun for spamming in PvP?

    Magna Gratiis.

While purists will probably have ways to cope with problem, my experience is that wizards, unfortunately, run out of spell points. While rolling wizard/fighter one has to consider how to minimize multiclassing penalty (in a form of each class never reaching it's full potential).

First of all, you will never be a wizard in terms of high DC/SP. This may lead to a conclusion more of fighter levels are desirable. But on the other hand... if you pop divine power it kinda stops to matter how many ftr levels you have. And you will have to use DP even with 12/6/2 wiz/ftr/evasion split.

So why not try maximizing on your wizard potential? I think all you really need is 1 ftr level for weapon proficiencies/ftr haste. Many arcanes are already focusing on the non-DC, non-SP side of casting, and you will be just one level behind them. Enough int to cast spells (10+1tome+6item+2enh=bare minimum), max str (lvl ups here) and con. And swing this falchion like there's no tomorrow and spell points lost no longer make you a piker.

I think this one of the very few ways to make the firewall you will be swinging your weapon in not gimped.

And wizzy has enough bonus feats to cover for taking toughness, PA, imp. crit etc.

Another option would be 12/6/2 mentioned, but you will have trouble finding PUGs for it and I think this would require top notch play skills to pull off due to reduced spell point pool.

Option another yet is Tukaw build, but then again this one also requires more skills and gamę knowledge to pull off.

Summa summarum, my recommendation for a newbie is just this - a 19/1 wizard/fighter. You can nuke, (self) repair and buff just like any pure wizard and melee on top of that.

Question: what do you want? Warrior that can buff/nuke or Caster that can sometimes chop monsters?

I ask, because you can't have both side good. Good Casters with some melee or good Warrior with some magic. But not both "good".

This is probably the thing you're looking for if you want quite a lot of melee and not quite enough wizard: (12 wiz/ 6 fighter/2 rogue)

The other option might be this (16 sorc/ 2 pally/ 2 rogue) - it gives you much more 'mage' and less hand to hand, but you can still get by at later levels.

    And then there's the ranger/monk variant (12 wiz/ 6 ranger/ 2 monk)

should all be a lot of fun for you!

    Enjoy.

    I built a Dex based Elf F/W

    Finesse/Twf

Used spells for armor and buffs.

Granted I only got him to 2/2 but he was ALOT of fun to play. though I doubt he would have stayed that way.

I was hoping to look for a concept of enough Melee to do a good amount of damage in PvP, and enough wizzy to heal oneself and buff with all the decent/needed buffs.
@Dr. Thank you for the links.
@Gott I'll have to look up what a Takauw build is, but thank you very much for the concept ideas.

I feel like I'm going to be spending alot of time, and many different servers trying different builds out to find what I'm looking for.

I knew posting in the WF forum was a better idea than the Multiclass, you guys know your WF.

    Magna, magna gratiis.

Couldn't agree more. I've got a 17/2/1 that focuses on casting with a touch of melee on the side, and a 12/6/2 that focuses on melee with a touch of casting on the side.

I'd give you rep, but apparently I have to wait a while...
