Default Who uses Enlarge Spell? No, seriously.

What good is this feat? Spell ranges in DDO kind of have to be eyeballed, but how many times have you said to yourself "Darn it all! My spell would have hit him if only he weren't so far away!" Spells don't go as far as ranged weapons, but it seems to me it's far enough. I just can't see a use for this feat.

    Some firewallers use it.

enlarge is good in a few situations. it allows you to land a destruct or a banish on that baddie standing op on a ledge before your group agros them. you can also stand back out of the range of a beholders anti-magic field and keep the heals coming on a group. it is pretty situational but it has it's uses.

Used to be more useful when many spells did not cause agro.

Still useful for thos who want to cast out of sight range. But most spells will cause agro and instant knowlege of your location by the monster you hit with it.....however, his friends will still not be able to see you or know where you are.

Still nice for charms...and I think Banishment does not cause agro if they make their save.. still a little unsure which spells will not cause agro in some situations.

    Or the short answer: Shadowmages.

I usually have it on all my mages, granted have not played them since early 2009.

Enlarge is a great feat, especially at lower levels.

My first use was against beholders with my high level wizard, that turned on the light for me as everyone else tried to 'sneak' up on them and cast before getting anti-magiced.
I just tabbed them and poof.

My low level sorc was popping in at that time. First elite run, low level, waterworks proved impressive with it. Taking out the kobald casters via hypno from a long distance away made us walk through it. (especially that room with the lever where they are up high).
I just hit a couple hypnos from the ramp, hit lever, done.

I find it INCREDIBLY useful in party play as a lot of people are not that good and it keeps things easier for me.

This is pretty much all I ever used it for. Way back when I would use it to solo the devil part of the vale explorer area risk-free on my wimpy level 12 wizard because a failed banish didn't cause aggro.

(Was also really nice in Wizard King when cloudkill didn't cause aggro. )

Default you mean the sniper feat?

I would often use enlarge to FoD, Pk, Destruction, Slay living from ways away. I have also used it to heal guys that are way over there in fire or lava or general danger that my Clr wanted to avoid.

I still use it such way... except in epic - there is only good for fw mostly.

I use it on my Wizard...for instance, in the Sub-T *enervate and finger* or *enervate and stone* beholders.

I use Enlarge Spell sometimes on my Cleric. Like others have said it is nice to long range Destruct, Banish, or Enervate something. I really enjoy long range Comet Fall and Greater Command.

Besides fun, it is very useful for non-evasion build Clerics in quests like Enter the Kobold I can stand far away from the action and aggro while being able to reach all the DPSers way up on the hill.

Overall its nice but its really up to your style if it makes sense to take the feat.

On a wizard (plenty of feats) I love it as mentioned, kill beholders before they debuff/kill you.

My human sorc carries it. You can enlarge cloudkill then duck behind a ledge (or invis) before the first damage tick. It's like the old days except now you can also do it with firewall, symbol of persuasion or whatever else takes your fancy.

It also used to be the only way to make chain lightening work sometimes, not sure if that's the case anymore though.

My wizard (Feats to spare) handles beholders with ease... It's one of the reasons I prefer wizards over sorcerers

I don't use it often, it's very situational... but it IS useful at times... Especially if the bad guys are on cliffs above you, or vice-versa

I like Enlarge quite a bit, granted my play tends to be about 80% solo/20% group because of work/interruptions.

It's excellent for slayer areas; as Uska mentioned - great for beholders; gets any charmed creatures to pick up aggro before you get to the area; and has excellent tactical benefit in other situations, too. Considering that in 20th century warfare the tank/artillery/missile, etc. with the longest effective firing range typical won, I think it is one of the best feats available. Granted - with a fully party there is less need for it and in closed areas it is useless, but then I don't run with Maximize or Empower turned on all of the time either. Just never make sure to never leave the pub without a toughness feat...

destruction on beholders, mass cure withouth to worry with harry's blade are 2 examples that come to my mind.
