Trade channel problems...

Recently I have been selling items through the trade channel instead of paying the 30% fee the AH takes from you off the top of every sale. And as expected, recently I have been recieving insults from people who either dont have the cash to buy my item, think my price is too high, or are jealous that i have said item and am selling it, but they cannot buy. I have had poeple send nasty lil tells sayin my items are not worth what I ask for them (yet I seem to not have many problems selling them anyways). I say to you repent. It is not your item to sell, nor is it any of your business what I sell it for. If you dont like the price, keep your snyde comments to yourself, and excersize your right to keep quiet and not buy my item. You do not pay my monthly bill to play this game, therefore you have no right to determine HOW I play MY game. So until you send me 15 dollars a month to pay for my account, dont sit there and tell me what to do with my items! The next person to send me a ragetell cuz your too poor to afford my item, will be reported, as will all others.

This is a game that now supports f2p and you're posting something in a public channel. Not to mention that school is out now. I'm sure you'll be hawking your wares to increased insults soon enough. This is your tax for not using the AH. I'd rather pay the 30% than deal with the morons who infest those channels.

In my experience lurking the marketplace channel, stupidly high prices are what gets you jeers or worse. Ask for a fair price, and anyone who whines about it gets shut down by other players in the know.

I have a feeling you are trying to sell your items for what they are posted on the auction house. Unfortunately for you, the AH is seriously overpriced for 9 out of 10 items (maybe more), which could be why you are getting insults tossed your way. If you really need to use the AH for your pricing decisions, then check the stuff that is about to expire. Those items have likely been there for 3 days and had thousands of players reject them. Price your items significantly lower than that.

Just today, we had a guy trying to sell a +2 staff for 1.6kpp. He recieved the reception you did.

once again i will explain this... i sell items for what I want, not what others want. if you dont like the price, excersize your right to remain silent and not buy my item... i couldnt be more plain then that. I explained in my OP that switching to the trade channel to advertise would bring some inherent jeers, and I explained what I would do to those that did. regurgitating my words back to me does nothing but give you higher post count... as for lowering my prices and letting other players in the KNOW deal with them, I will not do so as I explained before, I have no trouble selling my items on the channel (often within mins to hours). Those that jeer me for it will be promptly placed on ignore and reported... no reply is neccessary here...

I feel like I have a pretty good idea of the worth of most valuable items in the game.....and use the trade channel occationally......but don't bother to correct pricing or tell players pricing info because it is unproductive and the values slide so much.

You have the right to offer any item you want for any price you want on the ah and trade channel. Anyone else has the right to pay or nogotiate that value. Or comment it is rediculase in thuer opinion. Or offer the same item for 10 gold less. Or offer to sell for less every item to offer. Or send you tells all day long. Or send tells to the People your nogtiating with saying your prices are silly and undercut you. You have the right to squelch them. You have the right to post a thread telling people what to do and to stay away from your business. They have the right to ignore your request, call you silly, and annoy you for thier own ammusement.

As you can see, we have alot of rights.....doesn't make us right.

So you posted this why then? Were you giving us the shocking news that some people in the trade channel of a f2p game are jerks? I'm sure it will be the lead story on TMZ. Thank you for coming forward with this story.

3) glad to see you understand value, and know not to harass another player about his prices.

4) No, it is no ones right here to harrass another player with derogatory comments via tells or in public chat, nor is it a RTIGHT to send a tell to a player all day long. It is a reportable offense... I did excersize my right to post this and warn others I am squelching/reporting them... and lastly no you are wrong again, you cannot annoy another player for amusement, once again, that is harrassment...

I posted this in hopes to enlighten those that whine about other peoples prices, that it is not their right to dictate someone elses property's prices. And lastly I posted this hoping the best of the community would come forth in defense of that idea, but knowing in all likelyhood, the trolls would pop their heads out first, thus giving me my beggining list of people to report/squelch. seeing as how you are responding as such, i will put you first on the list...

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

When you post to the trade channel, your deals are subject to the scrutiny of the community. You're handling this scrutiny very poorly, even if the feedback you received was in poor taste.

once again... wrong... jerks deserve to be reported if they continue to harrass a player with foul and derogatory behavior I.E unending tells or tells including profanity or derogatory content about peoples mothers etc.... It is against DDO policies. and second it is not their item, therefore they have no business scrutinizing the owner of said item. If they dont like it, they can not buy the item and ignore the post of the person selling... they are not OBLIGATED to whine and cry about the price or make fun of the items owner.

Thank you varr for agreeing in most part to my statements., but lol you were still wrong on point of policy, it is classified as harrassment, and this forum is owned by DDO, and their rules dictate it as harrassment per their policies. As for disclosing my toons names, that is irrelevent (and would be even more foolish to disclose in light of troll responses), as people should not be harrassing ANYONE, not just the guy threatening to report them if they do.

What is it about DDO policy you dont understand? It clearly states harrassment of another player is subject to disciplinary action up to and includding being banned. And YES people ARE obligated to ignore me if they dont want to buy the item. Its called a Squelch Option. If you dont want to see my posts, or think i am ripping you off... DONT BUY IT and either ignore me or squelch me, its that simple.

In reference to my troll comment, that was intended for people harrassing me or being blantantly ignorant towards me, NOT for those who simply just disagree and go on their merry way...

You've missed the point of community in a mmo. If people disagree with your pricing in the trade channel, that's not harassment. Any player has the right to comment on anything posted in the trade channel. Some newer players actually appreciate the heads up if a rip off is occuring; again that's NOT harassment. Nobody is "obligated" to do anything.

If they use language, stalk you with tells, then yes that is harassment.

What a great goal, searching for people to add to your squelch list. You must be a blast to play with. I basically agreed with you about the people in the trade channel and said I use the AH for that reason. The problem here is that you seem to expect something else. That is what general chat, the advice channel and trade channel are full of. The people that harass you in game about your prices either know they are out of whack, or whiney people that can't afford them. Most likely the people in the second category are f2p that will never come to these forums. So the people you are telling about your problem most likely have a much better grasp of the prices of these items than you do.
