After 72 hours on Lamannia, here's some suggestions that are not just from me, but from discussion with guildies as well. Also note that I haven't read the known issues list yet, so some of the items I am reporting may be known bugs.
1) Allow the guild leader to disable the display of guild level
- people WILL stop grouping with people of lower guild levels, by forcing display of guild level it can and will make some people elitist
2) Why bother with renown in chests, treasure bags (removed already I know), and random kills. Why not make renown part of the quest experience? For example if a quest is worth 10k XP, give 1k renown, or 500 renown.
- Tying renown to quest XP would be easy
- It would eliminate the choice between choosing renown or an item for money as an end reward
- Many players won't even take the renown end reward which will hurt the guild in the long run
- it APPEARS as if renown from kills is random, so i'm sure there's some type of roll being made. With thousands of people making rolls, that will add yet more strain on the server which will add to lag. We want lag eliminated!
3) I do wish there was more information on how renown works, such as what kind of limits there are daily (the dev notes said there was a limit, but no numbers have been announced) and the decay rates per tier
4) The loss of guild ranks being displayed is a bad thing
- if you need to talk to an officer of a guild there is no way to know who is an officer or not (sure you can check myddo but that's slow and akward when a guild could have 100+ members). It is even more important to know who is an officer or leader of a guild if you need to make a complaint to a guild about one of their members (or officers)
5) What exactly is a small guild? medium guild? So far we're still getting a "small" guild bonus. Is the guild size tied to what is displayed on http://ddowiki.com/page/Guild_Crafting? So a small guild would be up to guild level 24 and medium is guild level 25 to 44? I assumed a small guild would be based on the number of members. More info is needed.
6) We have ALL noticed a lot of crashing after changing one toon. This happens on the live servers too but only after a lot of toon changes. What has changed so drastically to cause this? What can we do to test this out? And it's not just crashing while going into explorer areas from "town" areas, I've crashed coming out of a quest into an explorer area.
7) Every time I log in, I'm missing HP and SP
Typically on the live server my SP/HP bars would be full if I haven't logged in for a day. On Lamania I can go to an inn, fill up on hp/sp, log out and log back in and I'd be missing hp/sp. This is very annoying.
8) Maps are no longer "remembered". For example I can go into an explorer area and run around, recall out, go back in and the entire map is black again. This happens regardless of map resizing or not.
Now for some parting comments - I like the idea of guild housing and all the things you've added. But with such little information you've given us, how can you expect us to break things if you don't tell us the limits? Excellent work so far, but more disclosure please.
