Ok seriously, in reference to the ring....getting sr is extremely easy. There's no need to roll on that ring just for sr. Yes, I understand people want some caster loot for random effects, but this is a bad example. I've got both a 20 fighter and a 20 wizard so I can understand it somewhat, I don't agree with rolling even on things like bracers of the glacier against a wiz/sorc though. Just like I don't think a wiz/sorc should have rolled on my sword of shadows, which I ended up paying for, or tumbleweed against melee.

That is **** if an item falls under my name it is my choice to do with it as I will weather that be keep it put it up for roll or give it to a certain person in the raid. I do however feel that to roll on loot that you are just going to sell or possibly use three TR's from now is wrong.

A planned TR is an excellent reason to keep an "inappropriate" item that falls in your name -- you don't even need a reason for that. But to roll on somebody else's, against classes who will use it on that toon? I couldn't do it.

Yeah, I had former guildies get bent out of shape because I got a Torc on my 20th on a healing bard who I planned to TR to wizard... "before the cleric???!!!" - it was funny how the most vocal person often claimed "solo" healer status pretty often in raids, too. My 1600 raid-healing sp wasn't enough for them to consider my build as "worthy" of a Torc and they only calmed down when they realized it was in the end reward. You know what, I'd have looted it if it dropped for me and rolled if it had been up for roll - same thing the other healer there would have done. Now, on a MELEE Bard I wouldn't roll against a healer or arcane.

Also, barbarians who roll against arcanes for Bracers of the Glacier only because of the guard on it are just rude.

I don't mind people rolling on loot for a particular reason although some rolls I'd ignore anyway, what I mind is when losers loot just because it's raid loot that fell to their name and they have NO idea why they want it aside from that it's named. So then it just goes to the vendor when they realize their build can't actually use it.
Please split the class forums into REAL subcategories this is a jumbled mess.

I hate it when you have persons A, B, C rolling on an item. Person A wins then hands it over to person C even though person B was the second highest to roll.

That's the fastest way to get on lists that void one from future rolls. Anyone that passes loot I pulled and rolled off won't be rolling on my loot again, with some minor exceptions (1st time is not permanent, if it gets passed off to the 2nd highest roller that's ok).

I'm of the mind that if you pop a chest and find some sweet booty with your name on it...you get to decide what to do with it, period.

You might not need it now but if you TR or have alts it may come in handy (depending on boundness ofc)

If you're kind enough to offer it up for roll and someone complains... squelch and ignore are options.

Unfortunately some people feel entitled to other peoples loot and are vocal about it but we must remember that not everyone has manners or social skills. And again, squelch and ignore are always options to cut down on the source of irritation.

If it was the ftrs who looted it my mouth would be shut it would be their loot i have no say what ppl do with their loot... I just didn't think it was appropriate for them to roll on it when ppl who really needed it were in the group lol and yes i know i can go again 3 days later n try again lol I just think need before greed if someone already has something (and u knw for a fact they do) and they roll on it then it is greed and i personally dislike that ..

the ring well there were ppl in there who needed that too more than for the SR but everyone has their reasons, whether I think they are valid or not, it's not up to me and it wasn't my loot or their loot and it was essentially up to the person who had it up for roll to do with it as they pleased...

...will keep that in mind slink

If it falls for me and I can use it, even for a planned TR I'll loot it and not think twice.

If it falls for someone else and they are kind enough to put it out for a /roll I'll only roll if that character can really use it on their current build (not for when they TR)

If something falls for me and I can't really use it I'll put it up for a roll. The only rules I have are one roll per person (no rolling to pass it on after) and that you can use it with that current build.

Other than that, not much bothers me and I think there is way too much drama over it.
