Scepters: Cold Absorb 10/15/20 (very low priority, for ToD kiting use only). ToD rings make the old-school Int +9 scepter obsolete.

Accessories: Conc-Opp 10hp(negative)/50SP(positive)/100SP first. (Optionally, replace 10hp with Blindness Immunity).
Second Accessory: Either Acid Resist 30/15hp(earth)/20hp(earth) or Acid Resist 30/15hp(positive)/20hp (if you took Blindness Immunity on the first one, replace Acid Resist with 10hp(earth).
Third Accessory: Switchable 45 resist items. Not important at all, but Cold is very nice in ToD.

    imho
    1. it's best for a wiz to use ToD ring with +6 Int and +3 Exceptional Int, so no need for GS +9 unless you are planning on TR (esp a few times as wiz)
    2. You'll need a HP and SP GS items, one of them should be Conc-Opp. You usually have the goggle, helm, cloak, bracer, and boots gear slot for GS. Some ppl like to use bracer for Glacial Bracer for spell-pen 8 and archmagi, and some casters have DT or epic torc for greater spell pen and can free up the bracer slot of GS. I personally don't like using goggle for SP as i may use DW clickies.
    3. if you are a WF, umd is not a big deal. I'll make a UMD+5 with blindness immunity, wis+6.
    4. if you are a fleshy wiz, you'll want to make your SP item with UMD+6 (the one extra point in UMD is a lot!). triple pos with raise dead clickie is a good choice.
    5. Cold absorption is nice to have even if you are a WF. If you can't afford tier 3, at least make a tier 1 with +25% cold absorption in total (tier 3 gives an additional +20% to +45%)

    for my casters:
    1. My WF wiz is a monk splash and I plan to use the Epic red dragon helm and won't use Minos Legens. The toughness part is covered by the mindsunder docent. And I have crafted my HP item with heavy fortification at goggle slot.

It also has a tier 3 SP item in the goggle slot that I'm going to re-make as a cloak after i get a cleanse. School focus for necromancy and enchantment is available from multiple sources and i don't use the Stormreaver's Napkin anyway. And update 5, my epic staff of innersight will have +2 DC to all schools.

    2. My fleshy wiz uses greater spell pen 8 from DT and use goggle, cloak and bracer slots for GS. Google is SP with +6 UMD. Bracer is for HP with Concordant Opposition. I won't remake them but it is actually better to swap the position to use google for HP and bracer for SP. My cloak is a Major Fire Lore with some immunities. She is going to TR to Sorc in the future so the cloak will be discarded as Sorc should use Epic cloak of silver concord.

This caster is my main and I got a number of GS weapons including cold absorption +45%, exception int +3, and exceptional cha +3. except the cold absorption, i don't use the rest.

Just on that - they don't quite stack like that.

10% Absorb multiplies all incoming cold damage by 0.9. Similarly, higher tiers are 0.85 and 0.8.

    0.9 x 0.85 is 0.765 - 23.5% effective absorption.
    x0.8 is 0.612 - 38.8% total absorption.

Add a Fire Shield: Cold and you are x0.5 = 0.306 - 69.4% effective absorption. Shadowfiends now hit for ~75 on Normal (45 with regular resist, 30 with a Shroud resist cold 45 cloak).

At 30 damage per hit, you can selfheal through 'tanking' six shadowfiends if WF. At 45 a hit, you can be healed through it, but you'll need some help from a healer.
