Vent push to talk is borked while in game

I've been able to use vent while in game (in windowed mode) with no problem up until recently.

All of a sudden, PTT will not activate if I'm in game- it requires me to click on Vent in the tray before I can speak. If I click into Vent and bring it in front of the game and hold down the PPT bind while clicking back into game it will keep Vent at constant open stream.

I haven't changed anything for this to all of a sudden happen.

I've removed and reinstalled the Vent server and deleted the directory files- nothing works. I think it has to be something with the game, because I can use PPT while on Firefox just fine.

Just in case you are running Vista, here is one of the more common fixes that showed up in a google search.

Issue: For some reason Ventrilo was not picking up my PTT key while in game but if I minimized the game it would work just fine..

Fix: Right click the Ventrilo shortcut and select run as Administrator and then click allow. This should solve the issue for many games with this issue.

In your ventrilo settings, try enabling the option called "Use Direct Input to detect hotkey."

I don't know if that will fix DDO specifically, but I've had that work in other games, so I leave it checked on.

The OS on the computer is Vista.

God, I hate Vista. Never had to do this before with Vent, but will certainly try it.
