    Interesting! Some version of these storylines, compiled by people who know, should be on the wiki...if it's already there I haven't seen it.

    Just imagine, that what happened in House Phiarlan was only the beginning. Suddenly in the theater the imagination of the Dragon that convinced the Soulreaver to commit suicide is not an imagination anymore but comes to live and spread terror in the middle of Stormreach...

    Actually, more like Velah's Great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandfather (is that enough greats?). The Truthful one has been a lich for around 41,000 years at this point, and since dragons become great wyrms around 1,200 years, there's atleast 34 generations between the Truthful One, and Velah.

    I agree that I miss that summary in the Wiki. I guess a lot of players just join a Raid without really noticing the Storyline. Like Tempest Spine and the Reavers Refuge... the six murdered Dragons and their gems is for most just an other collectible, so it would be indeed nice to have somewhere a write up of the Story

    Even in the Compendium only half of the Arc is present:
    Tempest's Spine

    Searching a bit further in the wiki I indeed found a part of the Story in the Release Notes of Modul 4

    ...The Stormreaver was a hero of the disastrous war against Dal Quor, and when faced with imminent defeat, he turned to his most powerful ally - an old dragon whose true name is lost, but whose wisdom had earned him the epithet, "the Truthful One." The Stormreaver forged a pact with the Truthful One, who was approaching the Twilight and his death: They would sacrifice their lives to power a great spell, the Reaver's Bane, which would turn all of Xen'drik itself against the Quori...

    Which is now even shown in the House P theater...

    Sorry to break it to you, but a dracolich is as much dragon as a standard lich remains human. Dragon bane will simply cause him to laugh at you before it kills you. (Feel free to picture a laughing DM taunting you about not spending points in the knowledge skills too)
    Devs: Thanks for making Druids available to VIPs without the pack. This more than anything, has made me want to buy the pack.

    When I DM, I often use a technique I call freestyle paranoia.

    I make players not trust their quest giver and other NPCs, developing some sort of a mystery... who is that guy, really, and what does he really want?

    It's not all that hard. Make a couple illogical actions take place, throw something unexpected at them... and then sit back and watch the fireworks.

    They will spend hours trying to put things together. You can literally start with nothing but one NPC and an adventure idea, and the players will conspiracy theory it sky high!

    When you hear a good story, you run with it, follow it just long enough to confirm their worst fears...

    And then you throw another non-sequitor at them - something that invalidates the previous story and sends them for another loop of paranoia.

    You can keep doing this for as long as you like. You can even build a whole campaign out of it.

    I guess what I'm saying is... careful what you say around here.

    "Don't give him any ideas!" is a phrase I heard fairly often at the gaming table. It didn't stop them, though.

    Making something scary happen 5% of the time makes the player very careful and on-edge the other 95% of the time, even when there's nothing to be afraid of.

    Ah finally an explanation for all the random low level quests being added. The developers want us to think they are out to get us so we will not know what is coming next!

    I've found that doppelgangers can increase the degree of paranoia at the table considerably.

    My friends were able to make even the simplest of situations overly complicated:
    DM (me): You find the wreckage from an apparent raid upon a trading barge. Bodies are scattered among the debris.
    Player 1: I'm going to search for clues.
    DM: You find a holy symbol of the kobold god (can't recall his name at present), and several sets of small-footed tracks that lead off toward the mountains (where they had been heading in the first place).
    Player 1: I'm going to spend some time to keep searching for clues.
    Player 2: What more do you want? We suspected kobolds, found a holy symbol, and even kobold-like tracks leading off in the direction we thought they might be coming from...
    Player 1: I'm going to keep searching the area.

    10 minutes, and many rolls later...
    DM: You've covered nearly an acre searching for more clues, have found more small tracks leading in the same direction, some evidence of a campsite, more tracks leading int he same direction, and some bear droppings.
    Player 1: Uh...do you guys think we should follow the tracks?
    Everyone at the table: YES!

    The PCs headed into the aforementioned kobolds' lair, trying to find prisoners taken from another raid, and Player 1 (mentioned above) stumbled into a pit, dousing his torch (he had wandered away fromt he rest of the group). As he sits up, he hears some movement in the darkness, and then...
    DM NPC 1(in a gruff voice): Get him! I'm going to strangle his little green neck!
    DM NPC 2: I can't see a **** thing in this darkness!
    Player 1: I draw my weapon, ready to fight the kobolds.
    DM: Roll a gut check.
    ::rolls::
    DM: It wouldn't make much sense for kobolds to be speaking in common, shouting about wringing a green neck (presumably your, not green neck), or being unable to see in the darkness (something already established as something they can do). --Didn't feel like having him trying to kill folks at that moment.
    Player 1: Oh! These must be the prisoners!
    /facepalm
    ...
    After a moment, things get sorted out, a light gets struck, and they are trying to figure out how to get out of the pit. Player 1 decides to have the prisoners form a human pyramid, up which he will climb, and then drop a rope from the top. (It should be noted that at this time, Player 1 had only a rapier as a weapon).
    DM: As the prisoners are struggling to maintain their balance and climb upward, a spear flies down and strikes one dead. You look up and see that the kobold prison guards have returned.
    Player 1: Quickly! Form the pyramid faster!
    DM: Another prisoner dies to a thrown spear.
    Player 1: Great! We're never going to get out of here! I can;t reach the **** kobolds to hit them!
    DM: I'm sure you can figure out something.
    Player 1: WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO, THROW THE SPEARS BACK?!
    DM: Uh...yeah, that could work...
    Player 1: ...wow, I'm a ****ing moron.
    Everyone at the table: Yup!
