Change to Renown Message

I was trying out the new traps, when I noticed that how renown awarded is displayed has changed slightly.

(Guild): Your guild has earned 10 renown. (5 base + 5 small guild bonus!)

I'm not really sure what the small guild bonus is honestly. I wouldn't call DDO Daily a small guild, unless it's been going off the last week's login numbers.

I posted this in another thread but since you popped into this one thought I'd ask it here too. Where is the renown system getting the guild size from? What I mean is that I noticed that myDDO still shows a few people in my guild that are no longer in my guild in the actual game. Just hoping the guild renown system is getting better info than myDDO. Thanks.

It's counting them from the same list that you are viewing in game.

Oh, I really have no idea. Rough guess is about 25-30 actual players. That's just based on how many I remember seeing during the guild competition and dev party.

(Edit: It would be nice if we could sort the guild list by accounts, or something like that.)

Do inactives count?

If no, how long since last login counts as "inactive" ?

In a previous post you mention that it's counting unique accounts. What list can I view in game to see the unique accounts in a guild.

Based on what has been said the unique accounts will affect the rate of decay so I am guessing that answer is yes.

Guilds with less than 25 accounts get a bonus and the bonus varies based on size.

Ah, so we must still have less than 25 accounts in DDODaily. Maybe it just felt like a lot because most other guilds on Lamannia are tiny, and the people we did have were all logged in at once.

I do hope there will be a write up about all the little details of the renown system when Update 5 goes live.

In my guild we have a internal rule of once u are a member u are a member forever.. No one is ever dropped in here and we are very selective about guild members.

But some of them have left for more then 2 years now, so if we maintain our police of no droping members from guild, we will have more renown decay?

Coldin, I suspect that is the case. While DDO-Daily had the majority of the server, that was still a small absolute total.

I think having a cutoff at around 25 seems about right for "small guild"

The small guild bonus basically doubles the Reknown award. (100% bonus)

25-50 for medium perhaps those get a reduced bonus (perhaps 50%)

50-100 for large for a 25% bonus

100+ no guild size bonus.


lets see, if everyone could earn a 1000 base points a day...

Small guild of 25 caps at 50,000

Medium guild of 50 caps at 75000

Large guild 100 caps at 125000

Huge guild is 100000+

They have indicated that some sort of overall per day cap for a guild exists, not sure if we have a clue on that yet, but seeing that you can be losing around 50000 reknown a day at the upper to mid level I am sure some more tweaking the above numbers is actually happening.

Unfortunately for you, there's no such thing as "inactive" accounts since DDO:EU. They still have 4 characters they can log onto without paying a dime.
