No. Its a core D&D 3.x rule.
They are about a code...order... that's lawful...

Monks are about disciple, which is an inherently lawful trait.

Just because I really REALLY REALLY want to make a Warforged Monk2/Barbarian 18.
It's even legal in Pen & Paper - it just needs a DM who throws an alignment change effect into the game at the right time.
