Default A revisiting of Graphical Weapon effects

Some of this has already been done with TOUCH weapons, elemental weapons, and elemental burst weapons, havent seen them yet on lamania, but it sounds like a great change.

Thats the tip of the iceberg.

An anarchic weapon of pure good. Bossbeater? maybe but it should look different to a normal weapon of pure good.

    Here's my idea.:
We make the PREFIX on the weapon control the "particle" display of the weapon, and the SUFFIX part control the animating overlay on the weapon itself.

For shroud weapons you make the second tier effect control the particle display and the first tier control the animating overlay.

Heres an example of prefixes: (particle effect)

Holy: Tinges of White flames form on the blade and burn into the air.
Unholy: Tinges of Black flames form on the blade and burn into the air.
Axiomatic: Golden colours and sparkling leap of the blade into the air.
Anarchic: Random red, blues and purples leap off the blade.
Fire: Tinges of Black flames form on the blade and burn into the air.
Acid: Acid drips along the bottom of the weapon and onto the ground.
Shock: Lightning crackles around the blade.
Thundering: Sonic sphere's pulse lightly from the end of the blade.
Keen: Motes of sparkling glint along the blade showing it's sharpness.
Ghost Touch: Whispy ghosts shimmer from the blade. (like a trail)
Metalline: Particles of the 5 diffenent metal colours twinkle around the weapon.
Stench: Olive colored gas vents from the weapon.
Cursespewing/Improved Cursespewing: Black lightning faintly arcs around the blade.
(elemental/alignment burst): The tinges pulse occasionally making more particles.

Suffixes: (weapon overlay (displays over the surface of the weapon itself ))

Everbright: Low transparency mother of pearl colour moves slowly across the weapon.
True Chaos: The weapon shimmers with an aura of red.
True Law: The weapon shimmers with an aura of yellow
Pure Good: The weapon shimmers with an aura of white
Pure Evil: The weapon shimmers with an aura of black.
Shattermantle: Dk Purple and grey shimmer across the weapon.
Smiting: Dark red sonic field shimmers across the weapon.
Banishing: Light blue electrical light shimmers across the blade.
Disrupting: Dark green field lightly shimmers across the blade
Destruction: Dark blue sonic field light shimmers across the blade.
Puncturing: Blood red field lightly shimmers across the blade.
Maiming: Red lightning shimmers across the blade..

Special weapons like named ones that can have 2x prefixes or more on them should be allowed also.

Xoriat forged blade has prefix of flaming and prefix of anarchic on it, thats fine. two prefix weapon particle effects.

Also people can tell straight away from it's appearence that it's not your normal flaming blade.

That sword retribution that has holy, true law and pure good on it should also reflect it's uniqueness.

    Yep good idea!
So in everything, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Cannith: Arqa - Celduin - Gnossos - and others.

That's cool. I also think that the weapon glow should apply to things like bows and monk unarmed attacks when they're using lawful, icy burst hand wraps or something like that.

Yeah the bows and handwraps.. handwraps effects could just glow around the fists themselves.

namely the arrow trails which we only get purple for the arcane arrows an arcane archer fires.

The colour of the trail should be dependant on the majority effect of the item.

    Orange - Fire
    Green - Acid
    Dark Green- poison
    Dark Purple - Force
    Red Purple - Anarchic /Chaos
    White/tinge purple - Lightning
    Light Blue - Cold
    Yellow - Axiomatic/Law
    White/tinge yellow - Holy/Good
Black with red tinge - Unholy/Pure Evil
