stuck on loogging screen

After closing game client with alt+f4 due to msn getting hung up and hogging 100% resources i totally fail to log on

stuck at receiving character data and 0.01 kb transfer rate

i know that waiting usually clears such things, but 5 minutes has past since the incident already, anything else i could do?
