I still like to make modules using the tool set from time to time as well as download other user made modules and play them.

Other favorites are Baldur's Gate and the original Diablo.

Agreed. I played that for a while and it had potential but the power struggle between him and NCsoft doomed it.

    Good times indeed.

I first played it on a Mac Plus in 1985 at my local games store. The first character I ever made was named "Tomas." For the longest time I would create a Tomas for each game and have as his last name a roman numeral indicating which iteration of Tomas he was. I think I got as high as Tomas VI.

    Those were the days.

Well, all of the above And what about Pool of Radiance II: Ruins of Myth Drannor? Anyone play that? Huge maps, kind of a hybrid isometric / side scroller. Great treasure in that game, and monks. I think it may have been one of the first D&D based computer games to feature monks. A high level monk could do some serious damage. Too bad the game was so buggy. If you didn't map your way through each dungeon level, you could get seriously lost though

what was it...1979? There was no games for the TRS-80 for us except for lunar lander, loaded with a cassette tape.

then in 1980 we got the apple at school...by the end of the year I think we went from 16k to 128k memory (thanks to one of us stealing the memory card from the school's office)...

Lemonade stand, OO-Topos, stood out...Hammurabi was an excellent game too.

My buddies apple #69....that's right, serial number 69...had a 2201 space Odyssey space station lander that rocked.

But by then DnD had grabbed us along with the SPI and Avalon hill games...and steve jackson games.

None of us had the bucks for the computer...besides, arcade games ruled then...
So..DnD for role play, robotron for the computer games...

Does System Shock count as an RPG since you are taking the role of the Hacker? If so then SS, and SS2. Syndicate and Syndicate Plus if I can get away with those too.

Otherwise, NWN turned me on to the world of D&D, so that I owe a substantial amount of thanks too.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Yeah, that would count. I have never played NWN actually, but was a huge fan of the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale Series.

I loved the old eye of the beholder series. I had sheets and sheets of graphed maps that took me so many hours to make.

I really liked the might and magic series as well, though they aall had some serious bugs (MMIII would delete your saved game and turn off your nintendo if you hit backwards while fireing a ranged weapon). I had much fun with the armageddon spell in MM8

We bought the kids an Apple II GS. And promised each other it was for educational purposes only. That lasted what, a week? Dungeon Master kept us up to the wee hours of the morning. The first group made it so far in then ran out of food and was starving and lost. We started a fresh group to 'rescue' the first by finding the way. We played as a committee. One of us manning the keyboard and the other giving input as to where to go. We found it in freeware not to long ago. Not as much fun. The monsters movement speed in the game is influenced by the speed of your computer. The beholders were like a machine gun. Could not deal with them successfully.

We played a lot of Bards tale as well.

The game that stressed my marriage was Sub Battle Simulator. Nuff said there.

Secret of Mana, by such an enormous amount it isn't funny.
