Default Lyles Warchanting, Kensai II-Archane Archer

As I'm nearing my first TR I've spent a great deal of time planning my character's new life. I wanted the ability to adapt to most situations while still being an avid DPS.

I've seen a few builds out there that is similar to this but I've made a few changes that made the build better suited to my playstyle and better soloability/support roles.

I like it. I have a similar build that is currently lvl 11 with 6f/4r/1b with an endgame of 6f/6r/8b for a kensei/tempest/warchanter dwarf build - axesinger -

I like 8 lvls of bard because of inspired courage II and 3rd lvl spells like haste and displacement. Casting is important to me, pure melee gets boring (IMHO). The early bard lvl (see below) lets me use important wands like cure moderate wounds, resist energy, detect doors etc which helps with group and solo play alike.

ranger 6 gives me free bow (secondary weapon) feats, spells (ram's might/resis energy), and tempest I which for now is very good and will become less good in the near future.

Fighter for the specialization in dwarven waraxes, extra feats, haste boost, strength, blah you know all this.

Dwarf for the free exotic feat, axe bonuses, toughness, and spell resistance.

I dont have a build program handy (although I planned it out several times to make sure I hit all 3 prest classes).

1 - fighter - toughness, weapon focus slashing
2 -3 ranger - oversized TWF, free TWF
    4 - bard - wands, 1 spell, songs
5- 9 fighter - power attack, dodge, improved crit slashing, mobility, weapon spec slashing - Kensei I
10 - 14 - ranger - spring attack, free ITWF, ranger spells, and Tempest I
15-20 - bard - extend spell, GTWF, spells, and songs - Warchanter I

I maxed out concentration and perform and rest into jump and balance. I do not use UMD. It's important to note that you need to get dex to 17 (which u did but I didnt) for GTWF. If you don't want to go this way and put everything into STR you could take Stunning Blow here.

My build was 28 pt and was something like 16 str/13dex/16con/8int/11wis/8cha

I like your archer take suits the elf nicely. My preference is to run melee lvls early and bard last because the early content seems suited to melee. I noticed youre investing in bow, why dont you use more ranger for the free bow feats and Evasion something like 11ranger/7bard/2fighter? That would also give you lvl 3 bard spells which I found people expect a bard to be able to haste. fill it in with 2 fighter lvls for bonus feats and cool enchancements.

Thank you, I wanted 7 Bard for an extra +1 dmg to songs and the cure serious spell. However, 12 fighter has to be maintained in order to keep the Kensai II and the wonderful melee boost it provides and by removing 1 level of ranger you would have to give up two feats to select TWF and Rapid Shot, which there are no expendable feats listed. Toughness is imperative not just for the extra HP but also to keep you from selecting mediocre enhancements to unlock the ones you need.

Saying that, it is also impossible in selecting more levels in Ranger as you would have to either give up the Kensai II or Warchanting. I'm afraid in terms of class levels everything is set in stone for this build :/ Perform is a useless skill unless you are going full Bard, once you start splashing other classes the 1/2 point per level will prevent you from manipulating anything beyond lower levels, even with item bonuses.

UMD is very important since 6 levels of Bard will allow you to invest enough into it to make use of any equipable items once you cap and will be able to make use of wands.

Believe me, I've spent days trying to figure out how I can get more out of it lol.

    Default Perfected Build

While servers were done today I was in deep thought over my favorite build. After spending hours of manipulating feats, ability points and Enhancements I was able to fix most of the flaws that my old build had.

Note 1: Half-Elf was not present when build was first made, this now allows me to keep Arcane Archer as well as take the Half-Elf rouge path for 3d6 sneak attack damage. This is a reasonable trade-off to the Valamer 1&2 to attack & damage for both scimitar and longbow. However, the rouge enhancement 1&2 is cheaper than elf longbow+scimitar attack & damage enhancements, leaving room necessary for toughness enhancements which brings me to the second note.

Note 2: A big flaw in the previous build was the lack of Toughness feat. After boost from various equipment was only able to get HP up to mid-300s (not to mention penalty to Con that Elves suffer). I recently respec'ed to sacrifice Kensai II for Toughness via giving up Weapon Spec: Slashing for Toughness. This is now corrected by instead only taking ranged weapon spec, greater focus and greater ranged spec. at level 20 for Kensai II. This was thought impossible before ( to have both Toughness and Greater Spec. due to an issue with feat availability at a given level.

Note 3: The updated version is based on a 2nd TR build with +2 tomes. In order to make STR and DEX requirements for taken feats for lower builds one might have to make sacrifices from CON.
