There should be a way to report the LFM people and with enough reports from different accounts, they should be restricted from posting a LFM for a certain set of time.
The whole LFM turning into a trade channel is global and most unfortunate.

Actually....this has happened before and it was stated that this is reportable and people have gotten banned for it before. If my memory is correct this was ruled on as "harassment" and handled accordingly. Just report it and a GM should ask them to remove the LFM and if they refuse a bann should be on its way.
Haveing said that...this is how it was handled before so unless turbine has changed it opinion this should be how its still done.

I always report it as spam, especially now that there is a trade channel for that stuff

This is on Argo, although not to the extent that your screenie suggests it is on Khyber. Personally, I find it to be really obnoxious, but I do think a system like that needs to be implemented in game.
Sure, there is the Trade channel, but I like the idea of having a "message board" like the LFM but only for trades- so much easier that trying to negotiate whilst in a dungeon.
Most of the time, I send the player a /tell letting them know that they will likely have the LFM taken down by a GM-- quite honestly, most people respond kindly and tell me they didn't know it is frowned upon.

The Office of the Exchequer. 1750 on all live servers via Pure pugging. Thank you very much to all who helped carry a gimp. (wayfinder was a soloist build)
They have said it before, and if someone reports you the GM will tell you to take it down. I know someone who got a 3 days suspension because his warning came while he was having a bio and in that 60 seconds they warned him, then banned him for not immediately taking it down.

Turnabout is fair play I suppose.
(j/k that's just silly)
In fact was it a joke? Was there an argument about /trade spam raging at the time?

Maybe turbine needs to implement a TRADE tab and not just a trade channel, so these people can stop flooding our LFM with their flea market.
Laughing at you G.

I don't mind people trying to trade that way, but when they try to recruit with LFM seriously makes me wonder if they turn anyone down or just blind invite.....
