I have a level 14 WF Wiz/Rog (will be 18/2).
I have my eyes on the docent of defiance - but was wondering if there is something more suited to a caster?
In addition, what could I use while waiting to get hold of a DoD?

If you have the relics, elfcraft docent isn't bad. You are also 2 levels away from being able to get dragontouched. While it is a pain in the ass in itself to get all the effects you want on it, its still ok most of the time.
DOD is nice for any wf. Saying this though, I wouldn't recommend it as your main armor though, but as a situational piece of gear. The crippling effect of it could get you killed if you don't use it right. Although I don't have a WF FvS with wings, if I understand right, it will bypass the crippling effect, so theres an instance where it can be useful in more situations.
Even though its low level, the bladesmark docent added with the sentinels pack seems like it would be good to use for pretty much most of the game.

Thanks for the feedback. I couldn't find the bladesmark docent in the compendium. Is it too new? What effects does it have?

The blademark is from sentinels pack. A level 5 docent with lifeshield (10% chance of getting 15 hp on hit) and invulnerability (DR/5 unless something has a magic weapon)
Both the Blademark (regularly) and Elfcrafted (nuke mode) are what my casters usually wear all the way up to, and including, epic content.
Found them in the compendium:

Looks good - will try and grab the blademark after work. And then work on acquiring the relics for the elfcrafted. Thanks!

Quorforged Docent out of Inspired Quarter is another piece of gear that do. When upgraded it has toughness and superior false life in addition to +6 CON. All of that together is worth 120 HP at 20th level, make a Mineral II Greensteel helm for the heavy fortification & +45 HP and you'd be pretty darn durable.
At current level: Blue Dragonscale Docent
At 18: Quorforged Docent of Battle (+6 Con, Superior False Life, Toughness)
At 20: Epic Docent of Grace

Ok, so I ran the sentinels chain and I dont have the docent as an end reward option.
If I abandon quest can I rerun for a chance at it?

Just keep re-running The Tides Turn. I'd suggest on elite if you can handle it. Elite = 3 end chest = 3 chances to pull the docent per run.
Check your server's Auction House docents too - the unimproved version would be on there as tarnished something or other.
I have a Quorforged docent on my wizard. The Toughness on it does not stack with Toughness from Minos Legens. Wearing a Min II helm is one option, although I would rather use the Head of Good Fortune (mod fort + WF = heavy fort) and wear a different greensteel helm.
I dragged a friends lowbie through a Sentinels run - he got me a goat sigal and the docent. I already had a lion and took the dragon as my end reward (since I chose not to take a reward when I first completed - i waited to see what i needed.)
