My guild is a themed guild.
In fact we say our guild is "The Most Flavoured Theme Guild of All the DDO Guilds!"
Big shoes to fill.
So what exactly does that mean? It means that we are close to being a role-playing guild but we are not a role-playing guild.
Our theme is that of an evil organization. Think SPECTRE from James Bond or DC's League of Super-Villains.
This theme was chosen by myself, mostly in protest to the fact that the full range of D&D alignments are not offered.
For this theme, I had to come up with a culture of sorts.
First off the guild's official color is Dark Orchid a shade of purple. It is reminiscent of the original Drow and their Underdark I thought.
Our official guild symbol is a Purple Dragon.
We ask that our members display chaos and/or anarchic blades while in Stormreach.
A /salute goes a long way too for adding some culture to our guild.
The Emperor (as we call our guild leader) asks that one writes a biography for their character as well. This all adds to our theme and overall experience of being a guild member or Guard as we call them.
This culture of ours has other names for ranks within the guild. For example a senior officer is known as a Lord or Lady and sits on the Council of 12 with our Emperor.
Part of our theme guild is having a slogan.
Our's is in the language of Tolkein's Black Speech.
It is "Kulizgu Burzhai~Kulizgu Ash!" or "We are Darkside~We are One!".
We are not race or class specific, but Drow, Warforged & Half-Orcs are considered to be "favored" races with the Emperor.
Other interesting aspects of us. We are one of the founding guilds of the Alliance, and we have monthly Full Moon Parties with them where we play Hide & Seek, PvP and other "training exercises".
So if you are a role-player and you are considering creating a theme guild or looking to one to join. Check-out Darkside of Argonessen for some dark inspirations.
