I'm pretty sure guilds have/will have My DDO pages in Update 5, maybe the page will show what level they are and what buffs their airship gives
So that way you can be declined for a group based on what you happened to be wearing when you logged out last or your guild/airship.
what ever huge airship legion aquires from just being to uber, I will just lay down some cash and buy the slightly better model lol! sweet ! can't wait to see their faces when i roll up beside them in my pimpmobile
Allso shortly after the update i will be selling buffs on my ship to the ummm lets say lesser endowed people of stormreach. you too can have the same game breaking buffs legion has...for a small fee of coarse !
please turbine change my forum name to" buffpimp of thelanis" now . *runs off to buy pimp hat in store*
And I don't think someone who lives with mama and doesn't have a job and can play 12 hours a day should have an advantage either...
That said, I think things like this should be equal... I agree with you that it should be possible to get the best ship with in-game currency (but leave the option for Turbine points for those of us with high-paying jobs, but less time)
First of all, you don't need a credit card to get items in the Turbin store. You get 25 TP's for every 100 Favor. That opens it to eventually getting the store only ships for free.
Secondly, since they are avaliable to everyone, money or no money, then I see no issue with Turbin allowing you to to pay for the item you want to avoid the grind to get it. After all they are a business and are in it to make money are they not?
Finally, I actually would support them selling most everything in the game from the DDO store. If you don't want to pay for it, grind for it, but if you have the disposable cash and would prefer not to grins X quest a bazillion times, why not. It certainly doesn't hurt those who are OK with the grind.
I do not see why someone would complain about this. You can earn tp in game (as has been stated ad nausium in this thread) so if you can get it via tp, it is still available to any f2p player.
I have done the favor grind and hitting the initial 100 favor on all servers is a few hours work... a few hours work... ok, minimum wage is 7.80 now? Spend 3 hours on a minimum wage job and you can buy way more tp than if you grind tp for the same amount of time. Do the math.... favor grinding really is counter productive... but it is an option.
Turbine is not breaking any promise or going back on their word. The offer a great product and you can play it for free. It is the best f2p game i have ever encountered.
Also, if you do not want to Grind, maybe you just need to try and join a guild that has an uber ship... then you have it all for free... Most guilds will accept you if you are not a total jag-off anyway.
Yeah, who is feeding the drama llama anyway?
Turbine has every right to charge anything for those ships, because they A.) Do NOT directly impact your character B.) Are communal and belong to a group. I believe you need to buy a guild charter to form a guild, well an airship is worth/has greater utility over a silly guild charter by x1000 so doesn't it make sense they charge Turbine Points for it?
Plus, its not like you don't have another option, you do...the devs probably purposefully made it so that you could buy a slightly less souped up version for straight up plat. And further on top of all that you can earn TP for free, so in the end the best ship is technically FREE.
I congratualte turbine for all the hard work for Airships. But now they should really get back to what affects our toons the most... namely,
1.) Fine tune this Update on combat.
2.) PLEASE For the love of all that is HOLY FIX FIX FIX S&B so it's ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE to PLAY.
If I remember right, I think you need $25 to transfer a character to a different server. Or something like that, but basically, they don't accept TP for that.
Or maybe I'm not remembering right, this is how forum rumors start!
Can someone educate me what is the difference between Store and in-game ships?

Well...that is one thing that you can only do with real cash. Of course, it again goes back to the earned vs bought thing, you can create a new character on a different server and start over from scratch, or buy your way to a new server to have your already decked out character transfer over from your old server.
