@Turbine:
The more vets leave, the more vets will want to leave because they'll have no one they know to play with.
Please try to not alienate your entire veteran player base.

While this is certainly true and I agree with it...Alter's reasoning for leaving is (supposedly) being worked on and thus this argument is not as valid for this specific case as it is for others.

So in essence you're calling shenanigans on his reason for leaving...why not just call him a primadonna tool and be done with it.

I don't think I will be starting up any new MMO. Starwars and diablo 3 are the only thing catching my eye.

One of a handful of people I was happy to see on team, as I knew your desire for success and refusal for failure rivaled my own.

You are one of the few truly elite players that could drag a barrel of monkeys through any raid.

I didn't say it invalidated his reasoning, just that his reasoning doesn't match up with others' reasoning for this update.

IOW - he is not leaving because of a change, or lack of respect/service/whatever by Turbine and thus he is an anomoly in the exidus of U5.

And to make sure I'm clear - (imo) Thelanis is much worse off without him. He is a highly skilled player who I enjoyed playing with very much. If we had ever gotten synched on Completionist work I think I'd still be in game playing 40+ hours/week.

And that was my point. I don't care what the exact reason people are leaving is. I do care that Turbine doesn't do enough to retain them, or worse, does a lot to convince them to leave.

As much as pointing blame @ turbine for a vet player leaving might make sense on the surface. Doing so will not motivate Turbine in the ways that we want them to be. Also, it makes it appear like the OP is pouting at the dinner table because his parents won't let him have dessert unless he clears his plate, and that might not be the case here.

1000 and 1 reasons a gamer decides to leave the game.

To the OP: My experience has taught me to never say never. Farewell / Taking a Break / Stepping away / Going to WoW / ect ect ect.... They are all the same.

Just remember to keep your characters intact, just incase thier is a return.

Not necessarily. I don't regret one bit deleting all of my characters. In fact, this isn't my first, or even second, time doing so. I thought it was the last though.

but...

After only a week off (and with everything deleted) I feel strangely refreshed and excited to possibly start anew. Its been a long time since I started from scratch, and it carries a certain thrill and promise of adventure that just rolling a new lowby does not.
