    Default Old Drow TWF Bard

    I'm just coming back to the game. This was my favorite character when I left. I'd like to get some suggestions on some simple changes I might make to improve him. At a glance, I'm thinking of dropping extend spell and music of the makers.

    I'd also like to get some recommendations on how to make him better to roll on another server. I'm extremely happy with the build, so I'm not looking for anything vastly different. Thanks!

    Are you going for a lesser TR?

    To be honest, it's a pretty big mess. 8 base CON and no toughness... oh my. That's not going to cut it. Why so much charisma? You don't have the feats for effective spell casting.

    Either focus on spells or melee DPS. If spells, dump DEX, put it into CON and CHA (And a little STR), change your feats to spellcasting feats, take Spellsinger, put levelups in CHA. If melee DPS, dump CHA and some DEX (all if you go THF), shoot for 16ish STR, take Warchanter, put levelups in STR.

    I know I'm suggesting a pretty big reworking, but that build is not going to work in today's endgame.

    If yes, i´d go STR based and invest the freed up feat (Finess) into
    * Power Attack
    * Toughness

    and get rid of the base-CON 8 !

    stat proposal:

    Strength 14
    Dexterity 16 (+1 DEX tome is enough for all the DEX you need)
    Constitution 12
    Intelligence 10
    Wisdom 8
    Charisma 18

    Level ups into CHA is you want to be okayish at CCing at normal diff quests.
    Into STR is you want to kill stuff quickly and melee much.

    P.S.
    Advice in accord to keep the original feel of the character. Power Min/maxing would lead to other suggestions.

    I'm also curious to find out how you play him.

    You have the CHA to be a pretty good caster, yet your spells don't really have any DC's (i.e. no crowd-control spells there that I can see), and your feats are all melee-oriented.

    I'd suggest you decide on a path if you want one, and tie your feats/stats/enhancements towards that.

    But we'll need more information on how you play your character to be of help here I think.

    I'm pretty much setup to buff and fight. I use my songs and area effect spells for crowd control. I play smart and don't go toe-to-toe with stuff that is going to beat the snot out of me.

    I typically dual wield wounding/puncturing and curse/puncturing weapons. If I do get agro, I swap to a curse/paralyzing combo. I'm wearing +4 fearsome padded armor and carry a +5 light mithral shield for emergencies. I have +5 protection, +5 resistance, heavy fortification, proof against poison, greater false life, and disease immunity on at all times. I swap between greater resistance cloaks as necessary.

    Sounds like a Warchanter to me.

    See above advice from others

    I'd be curious to how this toon is performing between 16 and 20. Can't imagine this build living long in areas where the aggro is more frantic...Sins of Attrition comes to mind.

    With more HP, you can go toe to toe with a lot of things. My Warchanter has 373 HP w/ rage at level 13, with evasion. You have what, 200 at level 15? You'll be useless for anything but buffing in the Shroud, and even regular mobs in the Vale will chew you up.

    Your gear choices do not reflect the realities of todays game. Useful AC is nearly impossible to get, especially for a pure bard, so your +5 prot item is a waste of a slot. Stat damage doesn't kill anymore, so WoP is not a viable alternative to DPS. Paralyzers will soon only work 5% of the time, even with the curse, and even then, without DPS, you're going to have a hard time killing things before the break the paralysis.

    Finesse builds are all but dead.

    A lot has changed since you left.
