its true ... with epic lvls being reduced in difficulty and with a great amount of people feeling epic raid tokens are worthless ... it makes sense to have some sort of trade value ... ok maybe 10 to 1 is a little over the top when i posted that i didnt realize it would take 200 to get a small ship ... so maybe 1 AD per 2 epic raid tokens makes more sense (400 raid tokens for a guild of 10 would mean 40 epic raids ran as a guild ... not so bad when dq is pretty easy to run over all ... but even that is a little high maybe ... but still an option is better then no option.)

I don't like buying in the DDO store also. Best thing is don't like it, don't use it. When guildships were announced at PAX, Fernando did mention that there were going to be DDO exclusives to the guildship, but also went on to say that in-game gold was always an option to pay for things. I agree that the Stormglory ships should be available through in-game game gold as well... just make it steep if needed.

One thing that needs to happen for (mainly for small guilds) is at GUILD RANK 2 (or 3) let us purchase a guildship for travel. Let it be a friggin dingy, just give us an airship!!! It is going to take small guilds too long to get to level 20 for the right to purchase a ship.

Also, is there no instant rank for founders guilds (ones on the fountain)?

Honestly, I never thought the guild renown system would be based on something this incredibly stupid in the first place. It's the Sanford and Son version of guild renown, he who collects the most junk will rule them all. It's like the folks in charge ran out of good ideas.

That's why it would be much better if renown had a much higher chance of dropping from chests and end rewards. Then it's the active guild that's earning renown through normal questing and not just the farming guild.

I agree but also i would add to that renown should be added by favor too ... so your total favor is added to your guild renown ... this makes doing missions on elite worth while on more then one character.

also it would be nicer if epic chests had a chance to produce extra renown and low precentage chance of AD dropping and that would end my personal dislike of AD issue.

That doesn't even matter the whole renown being a drop at all is ridiculous. It's foolish. I was expecting something based of raids and favor. A reason to run raids on Elite rather than just normal blah runs. Possibly multipliers for full guild parties. There are so many other cool and interesting ways they could have done this. Monthly and weekly competitions...This like the ice games but prefreably without the Mario...Something that required some team work and effort. Something that might actually reflect renown more then the largest number of people gathering the largest amount of drops. Instead it's just the world renown trash pickers.

The whole mechanic is lazy and ill-conceived.

Well, you're in luck since they are changing how renown is earned:

We've just made a change where renown from mobs will not drop as bags, but rather be automatically collected party-wide (for everyone in the dungeon).

I'm hoping this will hit Lamannia on Friday.

Read that earlier didn't change my opinion one iota. It's better than having to be the first to body bags but it's still a lazy and ill conceived system that lacks any creativity.

19250 TP = ~ $192

...or with my 500 a month only 3+ years at 14.95 per for a total of ~$576. Super cool...I love DDOville.

You are extremely unlikely to be able to get to that high of a guild level solo. If you assume a guild of half its passenger size then the cost is much lower.

~$192/35 = $5.49

And thats if you bought every single point - no farming, no VIP points, and no trade in value of a lesser ship.

edit: personally I think it would be interesting to go solo and get the Stormglory Bolt. Would be interesting to see just how far one person can go with this.

Break it down however you like but a top level air ship is a $200 dollar investment. That has no security or protection because the guild leader could /ragequit and disband any time or just invite Tot for that matter.
