This constant greed is making me ill. I understand it's a business but VIP must stand for Very Inconvenient Players. It's ridiculous that so much of the guild system in this patch has an associated store cost. I would understand being able to get something faster or easier via the store but having the store be the only route is BS. Maybe this game didn't almost go under because of Atari maybe Turbine is just inept, it seems like they are working awfully hard to reverse all the good momentum that have been building.

U5 is getting worse and worse by the day. Thanks for nothing Fernando.

And what is the store the only route for? Astral Diamonds? Gee, those certainly cannot be bought by grinding TP through favor. And gee, adventure packs are certainly unlockable by doing other quests and--well, gee, getting favor and thus more TP.

If you really, REALLY want the slightly nicer airship, you can go grind favor to buy the AD, the same way it is now to get extra adventure packs. That way, you don't have to pay a dime. Heck, while you're at it, buy the platinum-bought version first and get a ruttin' discount, so you need fewer AD and thus less favor to grind.

In fact, it's easier to get Astral Diamonds through favor than adventure packs since you can get lots of astral diamonds quickly with a new F2P account while you cannot buy Adventure Packs for your main account with the Turbine Points that you get from a new F2P account.

Actually I quite like the system for getting the Airships.

As a one-man Guild the GP based ones are certainly affordable for my meagre needs...

The onboard amenities may be harder to get but hey I get an Airship...

I'm a plat farmer...is DDO my job. No, I pay for my entertainment. Everything should be available to P2P/VIP through the game without having to grind TP. I would grind raids and high end content till the cows come home but...farming favor for TP is not fun and best left to Freaps.

What is the big fuse on having to buy TP's. If you are a VIP you get 500 a month, depending on how many TP it is per AD your VIP can each buy some from this monthly TP. Then the Premium and F2P in the guild just need to grind some TP to buy their share.

I notice on the smallest ship one of the differences between the gold and diamond versions is that the diamond version has '2 large' slots while the gold version has ZERO. Depending on what can go in a 'large' slot this could be a SIGNIFICANT factor. (IMO) The diamond version also requires guild level 25, which IIRC is the max guild level before 'decay' will set in.

Let's all be honest here. We want the Storm Glory ships to be in-game gold only because we think they look neat.

I think it's really important to remember that Turbine is a business. With the F2P model, they really can't introduce this whole new guild housing structure without some things in place to make money from it. Making money means there has to be some things exclusive in the DDOstore...or at the very least difficult to obtain in the main course of the game.

Part of their plan is to offer this other class of ships that look slightly cooler, and are slightly better. I bet for most guilds, it's just going to be a convenience factor having those extra amenity slots.

Plus, let's try to keep in mind that everyone from a guild can donate to these astral diamond costs, even at only 5 diamonds at a time. So, it's not like one person has to pay for these deluxe ships either.

They new this was a crappy decision which is why they deliberately dodged the questions about Astral Diamonds from the start. This game will soon be DDOWars or DDOville.

Your argument holds little water as you can upgrade your plat bought ship of same size for an astral diamond discount, and you can easiuly grind out tp to make the rest without spending a dime.
Also the ad ships only give you extra of things,not things you cannot get, therefore there is no exclusion.

it says clear as day will not beable to trade them in one for one .. .you can trade in the ship for ITS value in AD and use it TOWARD The cost of the other one ... this means you will have to pay for the rest of the AD cost in cash.

if you can farm AD some how please tell me how cause i refuse to spend another dime on this game outside of my sub ... and i am seriously considering stopping that too.

Its not the same thing at all as f2p ... .as a VIP status member we where promised there would be NOTHING that was in the DDO store that would be game breaking and that nothing that was in the DDOstore would be better then anything found in game through regular gameplay ...

again I said if people give in and PAY FOR AD (as in real money ... i have no issue with people wasting there time creating lowbies and grinding favor for the TP just so they can delete there lowbie and start over wasting countless hours that could be used to farm items they could actually use at end game or renown which will be easier farmed at lvl 20 in epic then wasted time at lvl 1-7 farming TP) ....

really all they would have to do to keep there word would be make astral diamonds have a epic token value ..... bam there word is kept ...

when they said somethings would be purchasable only from the store i figured they ment cosmetic features and stuff like that

giant pirate flags or new engine looking things

stuff to make your guild look cooler then the standard ship

that i would have had no problem with ..

but when the ships have bigger capacity which means more buffs and what not for people who are stupid enough to pay there price ... that is gamebreaking and very very STUPID ... yes i know they hate hearing that word ... but if the shoe fits .. .take it out of your mouth and wear it .

TP farming aside its only a discount which means you need to pay AD price ON TOP of your windspyre discount.

TP farming to most people is a general LARGE WASTE OF TIME ....

For one reason only .... it was stated that purchasing stuff from the Turbine store would not be needed for anything in the game ... but it appears that is a lie .. for the biggest and best ships available a guild will have to fork out a ton of real money ...

I don't like buying in the DDO store also. Best thing is don't like it, don't use it. When guildships were announced at PAX, Fernando did mention that there were going to be DDO exclusives to the guildship, but also went on to say that in-game gold was always an option to pay for things. I agree that the Stormglory ships should be available through in-game game gold as well... just make it steep if needed.

One thing that needs to happen for (mainly for small guilds) is at GUILD RANK 2 (or 3) let us purchase a guildship for travel. Let it be a friggin dingy, just give us an airship!!! It is going to take small guilds too long to get to level 20 for the right to purchase a ship.

Also, is there no instant rank for founders guilds (ones on the fountain)?
