Maybe either way, but if you figure 10 TP per AD, that's still 2000 TP for even the baby ship!

If it was 10TP per AD then 2000TP equates to roughly 10$ a small guild (10 players) would be looking at a 1$ contribution to have a 'special' airship. To hit the higher levels larger guilds will be required, and in a guild with a 100 members you would be looking at a 75c contribution per member for the largest airship.

Those prices seem attractive. If it were 100TP per AD, then an airship costs would be more per member than most adventure packs and I doubt many would sell, particularly when you take into account the extra cost of gold seal enhancements to airships.

I think this is a fantastic addition having both 'free' content and premium paid for ehancements, and is entirly inline with the F2P model that has re-vitalised the game.

That was our discount for having a airship already, but someone said it might only be a discount if you have the largest store bought ship

No, you get a discount on astral diamond prices if you already have the "lesser version". You do NOT get a discount if you go from small to med. I"ll post a pic here in a sec!

I for one plan to protest TP requirement for AD

For one reason only .... it was stated that purchasing stuff from the Turbine store would not be needed for anything in the game ... but it appears that is a lie .. for the biggest and best ships available a guild will have to fork out a ton of real money ...

rather then do this is a intelligent and player friendly fashion like requiring 10 epic raid tokens to make 1 astral diamond they instead include yet another item to the DDO store that demands a pay or screw yo umentality (first being lesser reincarnations a system that had been asked for several times in the last 4 years and still no in game way to achieve it)

I will not be a part of any guild who purchases AD

I will not willingly participate as a pug in a "Guild raid" of any guild that purchases AD

I will squelch any player i find out has purchased AD regardless of my long lasting friendship i have held with said person or guild in my 4 years running ...

i would also suggest that everyone else do the same thing ...


if we want to stop turbine from running players out of the game we need to start protesting in a larger fashion against the company ...

some are protesting by leaving the game ... i would rather no leave the game but just not involve myself with obvious cash grabs that go directly against there own statements when involving the DDO store ...

Piaz stated fairly clearly that the best items in the game will always be found in game though in game mechanics but this has proven to be a lie in both guild housing and respec options ...

if turbine continues to lie to us bold faced .... then why should we pay EXTRA money to make them think its worth it ?


call me a pessimist .... terrorist .... doomsayer .... all round negative person ... but turbine made me this way ...

i did nothing but talk up DDO to my friends like crazy when mod 9 was announced as f2p i did it again when piaz gave state of the game ....

now i have egg on my face cause the game i stated was great representation of DnD in video game format with real time action combat staying as close to the rules of 3.5e as possible for a video game ....... was wrong

when i said at least they stopped giving dates and specifics then bold face lie about them later .... i was wrong ...


this is just the beginning ....

if they keep alienating the players what are they gonna do when e3 comes and all these new big name MMO's come out ...

this game will really be nothing but free to play players when SWTOR and DCuniverse come out if Turbine cannot even keep there word on something simple like DDOstore.

financially i am sure the DDO store was the best thing turbine ever did

for player base it is the worst thing that turbine has ever done ..... since V&M.

Your argument holds little water as you can upgrade your plat bought ship of same size for an astral diamond discount, and you can easiuly grind out tp to make the rest without spending a dime.
Also the ad ships only give you extra of things,not things you cannot get, therefore there is no exclusion.

There is bigger stuff to sweat about, this is not one of them

for having the small in-game money ship, you are offered a 40% discount, atleast that is what it seems, It went from 200 AD to 120 AD, which seems like alot.

What do you mean by purchased? bought them with TP? or real money?

Cuz if you plan to squelch a guild or player who uses the Turbine points to get astral diamonds then you better add me and my guild to the list. Cuz I will be grinding out TP and using that TP to buy astral diamonds for the better ship.

Now you quoted turbine saying that nothing NEEDED will be avail from store only. Well, that "deluxe" ship is NOT NEEDED to fully enjoy the game. You can get the best non deluxe ship and it has all the same benefits, minus a few extra slots for "perks". The only thing the deluxe models give is a little more crew space, and a few extra slots for "perks". NONE of it is NEEDED! So therefore, I do not see how Turbine is lying.

Now you are going to come back and say well in order ot get the best of the best ship, you NEED to buy it from the store. Well guess what, if you are f2p, you NEED to buy packs from the store to play them. SAME DARN THING! Stop with the whining already. If you are like this in game, please do squelch me. IF not, kewl, i look forward to seeing you in pugs sometimes, maybe.

But your threat is not going to stop me from getting my guild w/e I can. And I won't pay anything more than my monthy fee for it. Yes, that monthy fee that I MYSELF choose to pay.
