FIRST time I ran Arachnophobia, I succeeded.

First time I ran it with my second AND third characters, they died. It's called overconfidence.

By no means best (or worst) oops moment, but two days ago I approach what's-her-name Mushroom Collector in Harbor. I have 3 whitecaps and 2 deadly feverbranches. Mental note: DO NOT click "Take every set you need"! Whitecaps individually only!

    Guess what I clicked...

Oh, here is one from couple weeks ago.

Spent way too much time combing through AH looking for a Disruption weapon. Hardly any, and go outbid on those that there are. Finally find an ML 10 (I am level 10) +1 ghost touch light mace of disruption, with 10k pp buyout. Woohoo!

Take a close look at it after I take it out of the mailbox... it is +1 ghost touch light mace of destruction

Funny thing, it turned out to be actually more useful than plain ML 10, DC 14, +1 mace of disruption (which by now I also have).

    That's hilarious! "oh no!!!"

    .. I mean... bummer, dude

Most recent for me was hitting Release in the middle of the last fight in Kobold mistaking it for a Resurrection spell...

Zerging any quest when you click on the monster to fight and instead hit the exit.

I have my teleports hot-keyed. It was 3 bars down (so minus minus minus then the location) but on one char for some reason I had it on the upper bars where I usually keep my energy resists. In VON 6 ... taking some heat, want to quickly cycle to on some fire prot and ... end up pear-shaped over the marketplace. I've since changed those bars ...

I was playing Gwylans Stand (on elite) with a buncha friends. We were doing great. Flawless, no re-entries. Got all traps. Until this happened..
At the last room, we forgot to take one crate. So one of us ran quickly to all the rooms to check. So the rest of us stayed in the room. We were dancing, doing emotes stuff like that. Then suddenly, the thought of the command /death came up to my mind. I thought I would just die. I gave it a shot since there was a shrine next to me. Little did I know it would take me to my binding point. While the bar was loading, that said 'DYING', I tried to move. But guess what? It was on chat. So I died. My binding point was in Ataraxia. -,- And, my party member got the crate and finished the quest. I just lost 8-9k xp. I was 10k xp away from leveling. XD
    My biggest 'oops' moment. Lol.

Maybe not my best "oops" moments, but recent and because I did it twice, worth posting:

My dwarven fighter dual weilds dwarven axes, so I'm looking for some nice upgrades in the AH. While logged in with my human pally I decide to take a quick look and found what I was looking for. Pay the somewhat high buy-out price, place the dwarven axe in the bank, log on with my dwarf to equip my new gear and..... RACE REQUIRED: Drow! For a dwarven axe! lol

Yesterday in a group with my dwarf fighter someone looted a nice composite shortbow (+1 shock and something else) and is just going to vendor it. I offer to buy it because my lvl 4 rogue could use it. He offers it for the same he would get from the vendor but I pay him about 4x the amount (which came to about 1/2 base price so nice deal for both of us). Drop it in my bank, log in with my rogue... Huh? RACE REQUIRED: Human, my rogue is halfling....

Mental note: check restrictions!!! Especially if not logged in with the toon that will be using it!

My best oops moment is one that will make a certain WF never group with me again.

I was on my wiz a couple of months ago in the shroud, smooth, perfect run, Harry is down to like .005% so I throw up a DD, but I forgot to unclick the WF that I had targeted during the fight to help with healing him, yep you guessed it, he clicked the DD that suddenly appeared on top of him, to say he was mad would be a massive understatement, oops, again to you Mr. WF, very sorry.

I don't get it. Is DD a Dimension Door? If so, I understand why the warforged would be mad at you, but what were trying to accomplish by putting a Dimension Door on Harry?

I was not trying to put it on Harry I turned around and was going to cast it just off the stairs, a lot of people like to farm the shroud so they D-Door out or recall instead of finishing, so they can run it again instead of waiting, but as I said I forgot to click off of the WF I had been healing first and he clicked on the DD while trying to hit Harry. So normally as Harry dies or right before I throw up a DD so they can get out if they want. Granted after this little mess-up I wait until after Harry is gone before I cast it now.

You know, I picked up a weaking of pure good dwarven axe lst night off the shroud, rr Elf. i've also pulled some rr Warforged and halfing ones too.

I bought a vorpal battle axe to send to one of my lower characters. I was on an elf when I bought it, put it in the back, swap over, go to equip and phail. It was RR elf.

This happened to me as well, I was telling my brother about the advantages of getting an "X of Pure Good to help with DPS, telling him how I was doing so much more damage with my weapon now. I went to the AH and picked up a 1d6 acid/1d6 Pure Good dwarvern axe for him for a steal at 5000pp. Gave it to him, he says "Can't use it, requires human". 5000PP for it had left me at 500pp left. =/

Turned out good though, I sold it for 10,000PP before my session was done.

yea, sorry Wf you get booted. Actually, if you had a guy being a real tool and you wanted to enact some revenge you just showed a great way. Yours was accidental and he was still peeved, picture if it was on purpose. On man, you would have one mean WF chasing your wiz around.

    Red face Awww ****!!!!

Just got my monk to level 15. Was really enjoying him being so high level. It was a blast. So we get to the main part of the first part of the ADQ chain. With the various rooms - monkey, octopus, etc. There the central platform is. Well, I wanted to show off for someone, so I say "Hey, you seen abundant step yet? No??? Watch this..."

I proceeded to launch myself at a ledge off the side a bit from the central ledge. Collission detection be damned!! It was just decoration. Ever been to the bottom of that room? It's a lava pool. You can only jump up and down so much until you finally DING! Yep. did the whole ADQ part 1 dead.

Default Rage is my newest killer

Not my biggest but most recent....

Played clerics for 4 years, just recently decided to start branching out into melee. Was in a group with a TR or 2 in Ritual Sacrifice. After the red named orthon fight we went upstairs and split up, going after the mystics. After getting most of it cleared the FVS went to go shrine. I ran into about 4 baddies by myself. Took a little hopping around and pot drinking but I take them down with just a few HP left. I only had about 10 pots left so as I am standing there deciding whether to drink them or just wait for the FVS to finish shrining *ding*. F******* madstone wears off.

And no, this wasn't the first time this has happened. Just the day before it happened in Coalescence. Luckily it was at the shrine fight though. So as I res and go to rebuff myself with my Gird *ding again*. Don't take your Con item off before you heal up.
There is no lag. Just because you had none before and can't play now doesn't mean the server move had anything to do with it.

Was doing Necro 1 a long time ago and it was the tomb where you had to look for runes on skulls. There was one area where there was some sort of altar that you can get a collectible from but there was an ice trap that will go off if you go in. Now, we did that tomb several times (about 5) and EVERY time we ran it, I'd forget about the trap and walk in and party members hear *ding*. I was the cleric too.... We had a good laugh about it and till this day, I'm still not sure why I was incapable of remembering that there was a trap there...
In case you didn't already notice, my posts that end with must NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, be taken seriously.

The post above just reminded me of another "oops" series of moments. My son and I were doing the "Depths of Despair/Darkness/et al" series and one of them has an explosive barrel, which after breaking, a fire elemental appears. Darned if I didn't smash that explosive barrel 3 times in a row (normal/normal/hard) forgetting it was explosive AND that it spawns the elemental..... My 12 year old son was ready to kick me from our party.. lol

The group told me I was banned from doing any more buffs.....about 15 mins later it dawned on me...I was trying to buff 4th player (F4) but at same time holding ALT in prep for my buffs shortcuts....

ok i got two for you today...

    I'm the guilds Primary Rogue...

So we had new members join up so we have to crush them threw Korthos island. I have a 4th level THF Fighter built just for crushing people threw the island. so we have a 5 person party none of us are rogues, were just powering threw it.

So we were doing the one where you have to rescue the mayors daughter... Just going around the corner i said; "there's a trap around here, but it shouldn't be too bad..."

Well....... remember when traps were a little "bugged?"

    Yup. Full party wipe.

    Next:

My Rogue, Guildy pure Ranger AA and our Primary Sourcer head out to kill the little black dragon for the first time just when it had come out.... and we hadn't heard a thing about it.

Pretty cake walk for us, were horribly over powered... just doing it on normal to check it out.

dead baby, everything smashed awesome lets get some loot...!!!!

oh HI MOM!!! oh !!!!! CR24!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! RUN RUN RUN!!!

so very Benny Hill Styles... we end up three way kiting her with agro trading between the three of us useing FW/SA/Multi

got her to about 1/4 hp before she ate us and added our stuff to her hoard...

all we needed was the music going.

Appeared at my rez point and went to sell/repair my stuff. not thinking, clicked to put my haggle necklace on, forgetting that my normal necklace is my con item.......... you have died!!!

Default I took off my INT Necklace for a minute...

Bout 2 years or so ago, don't remember the name of the quest in the refuge, but after holding the party up while getting my lunch packed going up that damned mountain, it went something like this...

Party leader: "Rogue, you're a pansy. So you get to stay back here on this side of the door where it's safe, and pull this lever when we come screaming for our lives. Got it?"

    Me: "Yup, pansy. Got it"

They go through the motions of buffing and whatnot, while I start preparing to be bored for a couple of minutes. I notice the ranger had a pretty long Bio, so I started reading as they go through the door. Blah blah... killed this guy in PVP... blah blah, solo'd shroud 48 times... blah blah... I've killed over 200,000 monsters. At the end: If you want to be uuuber-kool like me, and you want to see how many monsters you've killed, just type "/death count" in your chat bar.

    About 3 seconds later...

    Party Leader: What the F%^&#!!!???

    Yup... I Suck.

    Beat that Stormreach!
