THEY DO THAT NOW. It's just that they use tons of DP clickies.

The major reason why I see NOT allowing this is due to SLAs. 2X mana cost on SLAs is hardly noticed with a 2500 mana having caster who is now decent in melee combat. Tukaw style savants would be running around meleeing and rotaing through SLAs. How OP is this? Some would say not really, due to the fact that if you compare it to a traditional sorc, who can pretty much steamroll everyone elses DPS at this point, its not really game breaking.
Ahh...my good friend come to argue over here too. I can't hide.

Mobs will die a lot faster when faced with a melee-mage who can attack as full bab instead of 1/2 bab.

After I cast my buffs, the only thing I cast between is haste, fire shield (if I have mana to waste) and reapir anyway. I have cast it before and it makes a big difference because I hit much more often. The same character has a divine power clickie, but that is saved for big fights not trash.

It's a totally different game I play. I get that. But it's not like arcanes are stuggling in the normal game.
I was asking out of curiosity for whether it was useful in permadeath, which does not seem to be the case and reflects the main ddo game as well.

The reality is that buffing this spell is a good thing. People who see arcanes ruling through melee are not paying attention to the reality that they can just FOD things. This spell opens up the ability to have an actual arcane melee without being OP due to the costs involved, and opens up potential for various build types. (personally would like to see more non wf types)

The Myth- TR will make my character powerful
The Reality- Those kobolds in Water Works won’t have a chance but nothing else cares-Learn to play your build and all its abilities in actual difficult content, get gear and reaper points in level 30+ content and raids.

It is a good spell in PD, but you have to consider that as a warforged warrior-mage without anyone backing me up for heals, it is best used sparignly. This is also my highest level character ever. I'm running unfamiliar content. In PD play, we tend to use lots of things "normal" players find useless. The fabric of DDO is D&D. Turb totally screwed the balance with things like auction houses, brokers, monty loot drops, unlimited cheap and powerful magic. Take all the "kick axe" away and a lot of the interesting abilities come back into play. There is an interesting and thoughtful game at the core of it.
