Lowbies with 30 [energy] resist, high levels with 60?

This contract creates a training dummy for a limited duration on an airship. Measure your DPS or just vent your frustration.

    ohh interesting

This is a beautiful thing. You can use it to try out different combat effects and see what the effects are or just measure your e-peen against everyone else with actual real-game data.

    Unhappy

Is it just me or was every benefit on the ships temporary and you had to rent them. I dont know I was pretty hyped about guildships till I read this. Hope I missunderstood. How could a ship come without at least one chest you dont have to rent.

The temporary part of most of the guild stuff is a bother to me as well.

Smaller casual guilds would expect to take a much longer time to build ranking/benefits, and that's cool. However, it sure takes any incentive out of it to work a long time for something that will (relatively) last no time at all.

Little more +rep for the OP.

    edit:
Then add to that the "Renown Decay" I just read about, and smaller casual guilds are beat from ever getting top tier stuff anyway. *shrug*

Well, heck, there goes one half of one of my gripes about DDO that we didn't have a practice dummy like we did in AC1 but at least there anyone could run out to Qalabar and attack it (loved it when the Drudges would come attack you for attacking the practice drudge though).

I can't wait to see the real numbers being tabulated and formulas worked out like we had in AC1.

    Red face Thank-you.

I appreciate the effort in putting that together for us. It is good to see some hard facts for this.

To me the list seems kind of scattered. The 'rewards' seem discordant. Starting at strange spots taking weird jumps. Why are the resists split that way? There seems to be no order fot the order. Would it seem better if the player choose at each iteration what element you want to resist. For example, at the first point where resists are made available why not lower the strength of the resist, and allow the player to choose which they prefer. Then the progression is natural and is not an impediment to play. Then each consecutive shrine addition could be differentiated. I think that made sense.

Also the list seems pretty empty, there are so many levels that do nothing.

Default I approve of all these buffs

I approve of all these buffs, Why because it helps top guilds do top tier items. A good deal of ToD and Epic runs on my server are run only by the high level organized guilds and those guilds can benefit from these things.

In fact I daresay many of these things will likely not be used except in those cases. I like the guild system. I am in two guilds and I work hard in both guilds to help players and the raiding guild works hard to keep its members raid ready. This is a great reward for that effort. If you do not put forth the effort how can you expect to get the reward? Its part of the mmo grind.

No one said this should ever be accessible to casual guilds? Should all the items be accessible to casual players, nope. Same with guilds.

Plus this will be a money draw for Turbine, no doubt.

Don't forget we are being given free shared bank, with which a haggle toon can use the profit to pay for the expenses.
Formerly you had to buy the regular shared bank, else you had to move your items via mail.

Tao, are you prepared to perhaps feel the need to dump one of those guilds as the pressure to maintain certain levels of perks in one of the guilds begin to demand a lot more of your time. I know MANY players who have characters in multiple guilds, who choose which one to log onto based on their moods and how they know others like to run. Unless you are in a guild with no real aspirations, only interested in the social end of things, players will get pressure to run with one guild or another all the time. This is compounded with the decay feature of reknown.

Imagine if FAVOR could decay with time and you would lose your ability to create 32 points characters (unless you just bought it in the store that is). You have to keep earning more favor all the time by running new content all the time.

I kind of like the idea of the buffs but I think they are probably a bit overpowered.

I think the whole list needs to be rearranged. Quite honestly, the first things that should be accessable are the common ammenities, such as bank access, mailboxes, AH, etc... basically the same features one finds in a tavern or in the Marketplace/Portable Hole/Meridia/et al. And these things should NOT decay.

Once those simple things are available, THEN make the buffing crew members available and they can decay... think of it as paying the crew member to stay a crew member.

I just think that the basic wants of guild airships (e.g. storage, mail, etc.) should come before the nifty little perks (buff bots), so that even smaller, low-level guilds can have access to the conveniences.

    Exclamation Woof!!!

I had no idea that it would be a 500,000 pt threshold for G25. That seems a bit daunting for a largely solo-ist like me. That could take years for me yeah?? Guh.....
Jeez I hope my buddy Doque comes back to the game one day....
