    Default Math Problem: Ranger Tempest vs Pure Fighter

    It looks like if the numbers hold true and/or STWF doesn't go live fighters are looking at 110% 88% for their final attack rate. Ranger Tempests stand at 105 105% (pretty nice deal). Who lost more attacks? The ranger tempest or Fighter from pre/post nerf.

    On live we have:

    Main: 114
    Off: 142 (I've seen 137 reported as well)
    256 attacks/minute (Looses 41 attacks/minute)

    Pallys and Fighters (zeal and capstone)

    Main: 114
    Off: 114
    228 attacks/minute (Looses 29 attacks/minute)

    Rangers lost more attacks.

    Good. They and Wind 4 Monks were the main causes of serverwide lag.

    That and the Ranger6/Attack Speed Monster builds.

    I have tested it and it appears that the second attack in the double strike does not proc offhand attacks. It also appears that the double strike only happens on the first attack in the chain if at all, and always a mainhand attack.

    Even when added up over a decent period of time it averages out to the regular offhand proc %

    No it shouldn't if the double strike doesn't proc the offhand then there will be an output loss of 8% for pure fighters and 10% for rangers in terms of damage. Just keeps looking worse and worse everyday.

    I'm wondering how this will effect my Zeal Tempest (14Pali/6Ranger). I'm thinking 20% chance at double strike should be pretty darn nice, even more so when throwing an Exalted Smite or Divine Sacrifice.

    the pal14/ranger6 will have 110%/90%, where do you get the extra 10% doublestrike from?

    ummmm..... kinda strange when monks are not welcommed to parties... how could they make lag

    Zeal + Ranger speed boost. Or is the 10% range boost just being folded into off hand procs?

    Haven't checked Lamania and that character isn't 20 on Lamania so I couldn't confirm. From what I'd read the 10% speed bonuses were being turned into doublestrike, so Tempest I would and Zeal would. Then based on my classes and feats I'd get additional off hand procs. Guess I'll have to read the design thread again.

    currently there are only 3 ways to boost doublestrike: zeal 10%, fighter capstone 10%, tempest3 5%

    Cool cool, just read through it again on Eladrin's post also. Well, 90% off hand proc + 10% double strike still sounds pretty good. Right now I generally land double smites on 3/4 or so attempts (gets rough to time with lag). Looks like I'll have around a 9% chance of landing a triple smite.
