Seriously, people. Trying to tell someone their post on a forum is childish means you have no idea what internet forums are used for. Not what they're for, what they're used for.

Turbine may make this up to capped toons that focus on TWF, but it's doubtful. Yes, you pay money.

You've paid the money for the time you've already played. Not any time to come. Turbine owes you nothing, so keep playing what you've built up and find ways to make the toon stronger, or start again and try a different strategy. Seriously, you never know....a new angle at the game might make it....fun?

So what you're telling me is that you get to play a month, 3 months, 6 months, etc... before you have to pay? Sweet deal dude. Mind letting me know how I can get a similar deal from Turbine?

FYI: Dude if you want call someone out and say they're stupid that's fine, but saying special needs kids are ******** is pretty low. I'm pretty sure they didn't want to be born with those problems.

I know you're trying reaaalllyy hard to live up to your self image of cleverness, but give it a rest. You only make yourself look like a dips%^t. (Wow, I can't believe I was able to insult someone without bagging on someone who can't defend themselves?)

Forums are for the passionate and the purposeful. They're also social playgrounds. I applaud your dedication to so many MMO's and I like your willingness to accept change and adapt.

However, I like to see critical discussion and suggestions for improvement. I like the whimsical threads. I even like the occasional /rant now and then because at some time in my MMO career I may have had similar feelings.

What I'm saying is.. the forums are a melting pot of many things; a buffet if you will. It's up to each individual to look over the various topics and decide what to digest. Some items are so good that you'll go back for seconds. Others are worth an honorable mention. And, when it comes to those unpalatable threads, sometimes it's easier on the digestion just to turn and walk away. Who knows? Those whining threads that I just can't stomach might be a delicacy to another. To each there own I say.

I am waiting to see these changes but I feel they have nerfed every single char I rolled which means I have to reroll them, or at least some of them due to the stats I chose for what was a decent build (no, not some stupid FOTM uber build).

So, I have two choices and I can reroll and start all over again with everything or I can pay some blood money to get a heart. What do you seriously think Turbine is expecting us to do? They want you to buy hearts for these changes and the next broad sweeping changes and the next, ad infinitum. This is their new game plan to make money (or to rob the VIPs of their points) but some people will choose the magical third option and leave which, as has been seen over the years, including the lack of a decent response to the 1 week downgrade fiasco, they don't give one darn about us. They want us to be like a conveyor belt where we come in then spend some of our money and go out so new ones come in.

Yes, my rose colored glasses are now off and my tin foil hat was proven effective when I forecast what was going to happen to Lotro as far back as last Oct/Nov.

So, say what you will but I am not going to be played like a fiddle and be some company's fool. Lets just hope I am completely wrong on the direction Turbine is headed but I seriously doubt that I am.

I apologize, let me clarify what I meant. You pay for the time you've come to play; i.e. if you paid last month, you were a VIP last month. If you've paid for the past three months, you were a VIP the last three months. You got what you paid for; Turbine owes you nothing.

    Anyways....

Without this becoming a flame war, let me just say: learn to take a joke. The pic is funny to a lot of people. It wasn't a shot at special needs kids, it was a parody on the irony of arguing an anonymous block of text typed by someone behind a screen whose life you haven't changed in the slightest by making your argument.

If you read my post, it has valid points and was constructive to the OP and thread. So am I clever? Yes, I believe so; at least I'm more clever then someone who is purely a troll.

What I want to know is, if Turbine does changes for players and they listen to players, who are these players that are giving such bad advice to the developers? Don't get me wrong, am I happy with the changes to TWF and THF... ummm no. Not at all, BUT if they do lower the lag people are complaining I guess it'll be good.

I would still love for someone to explain to me, how Dungeon Alert lowers the lag in instances, cause honestly I don't see it. If any, I feel it increases the lag, having to take and apply the flags raised by dungeon alert on your char and mobs.

I do think THAT if the staff at turbine, where more of a player base, than just a job base, maybe they could see how difficult it is for players to deal with changes. All I'm saying it's kinda hard to know how difficult something is, when you just edit your char and put in any stats you want, or any items you desire; How much grinding does a person do to get a 3 tier greensteel weapon? A game developer can get one in 1 minute, some of us have to grin and run quests for weeks to do it.

Like I said, I can see how people are hurt and angry about this, and I do wonder how difficult it would be for Turbine as a company to say for example give Greater Reincarnation to each character level 15+ per account? You know as a way to show players they "care". Make them bound to character, can't be traded, moved, only used on the respective character. Now if this implies that Turbine will loose so much money for doing such a thing well that at least shows the significance and actual value of players to the company. Turbine wouldn't loose revenue doing this, in fact if they can keep actual players from leaving the game, that'll be 1 or 2 more months of revenue and foster some good will towards the player population. By the way, to everyone who is going to rant that my idea is ridiculous, they don't need it, etc. Let me argue this before hand, like people have already stated, it's all code. They are not loosing anything except some time doing it, will it benefit every player/character? Maybe, maybe not. If you don't need it, bank it, or throw it away. I really don't care what you do with it, just because you get something doesn't mean you need to use it. To those that will argue that by doing that, Turbine will loose revenue, or income, let me state this before hand, keeping the player population thriving, and happy and if it avoids even if it's only a handful of players for staying a couple more months, well then that is added income one way or another.

    1. I disagree, Turbine owes a viable game. Why just nerf the game and not invest in better equipment?

    2. How is "Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still ********." not a shot at special needs kids. Basically, you're implying that no matter what they (Special Needs Kids) do, they can never better themselves nor accomplish anything.

    3. You imply that it's meaningless to argue/discuss something on the "Internet"/forums, yet you're still posting.. imagine that.

    4. If the point you were trying to make was to just "move on and deal with it", then yes that's semi-constructive.

    5. And finally, dude, you are a troll. You could have made your point "Just deal with it" by typing.. "Just deal with it", instead of trying to be a semi-clever A-hole hypocrite.

fyi: Posting on the forums by players does help sometimes to affect in game mechanics. Small Example: They did move the shrine away from the maze further down the tunnel in Prey on the Hunter.

    1) They owe us nothing unless we pay, because there are people who WILL always pay.
2/3) Never said those words, and my mother was mentally handicapped. She found that joke hysterical, so don't get all righteous on me. Fine, you felt it was offensive. I felt you nonconstructive post towards me was offensive. Yet I didn't argue back; I was clarifying what I meant.

    1. Point of fact, we are still paying, so they DO owe us, according to you.

    2. You DID say those words when you placed that picture of that kid in your post. Pointlessness is what you are implying in that picture you posted of that special needs kid. You know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. You posted it... You can't back away from it.

    3. My post in reply to yours was actually very constructive. I reminded you of how hypocritical you were in your maundering.

    4. And you're STILL arguing on the Internet...awesome.

In the past we were given free things for all characters created after a certain date. I don't doubt that this may happen in the case of update 5, but I have been wrong before.

I'd personally like to see them decline the request and ask instead that players buy Lesser Hearts of Wood. In the case of Exploiters that made builds designed to take advantage of certain overpowered traits, they should be made to buy the hearts of wood that will permit them a class respec as well, as I would expect to.

Yeah, instead of complaining people need to vote with their wallets, like they did in SWG when they deleted entire classes from the game and people who put alot of hard work in said forget this, and left.

Also, how many of those games you named other than this had multiclassing. Its a bit different when you are locked into a template and cant really screw up a toon to the point where you would need to delete it if nerfs made it no longer effective. SWG had multi-skill trees - and laid down huge nerfs. People woke up and logged into the game to find they had blank templates instead of a viable toon when they deleted classes right out of the game. Oh, and how is that game doing again?
