    Default Merlask

When I started this game there was a player on these forums named Merlask.

She was very outspoken, helpful, and championed many causes. Even organizing protests. Anyone remember the "naked dancing in the tavern" protest?

She eventually joined the Turbine ranks and became Tolero....

I can't help but wonder what Merlask would have said about the changes coming in U5.

I just can't help but think that Merlask would have been beside herself at the thought of the D20 system taking a back seat, even if in description only.

I can imagine that she would have went ballistic at the idea of nurfing attack speeds yet again.

Wouldn't it be great if Merlask could somehow reincarnate herself.

I suspect that Merlask would have also objected to flavour nerfs since she was the Queen of butterflies and game feel.

That said, be fair. The devs and mods are paid employees, trust that they are good people who say their mind in the office, but are of course required to give the party line to customers.

Merlask True Reincarnated on her way to completionist and became a Turbine employee which has very high int and dex requirements but no charisma. But never you fear, I'm sure that in some of those boardrooms she's still throwing her toys around

Whatever happens in party chat stays in party chat......unless you ss them and use them as blackmail for large scales

Excellent example of the hypocrisy of most people. People always say when they are young they will get inside and change the system from within. Then they fall in and conform.

Wow, I didn't realise Tolero was CEO of Turbine... or even lead programmer!

Get your facts straight, bub. From outside, the system is completely invisible. From within, they understand how it works. Those that understand and want to change it nonetheless, do.

Oh this is easy for anyone who knew her!

At first she'd freak out because the livewood theatre has a show in it now, and the phiarlan ward got absorbed into a quest. (She experienced a similar level of panic when Proof was in the Poison became a quest entrance where her RP character used to have his house!) However, she'd be really excited about the new theater in the bogwater and the sprucing up of the golden wing. She'd be curious about the trap making, but too lazy to respec her bard into a trap maker. She never was much of a power gamer or char builder, so the combat changes would go over her head and she'd leave that to people who were into it... though the FPS side of her would start trying to head shot every monster she could with the partial body range change. She'd be thrilled that the Beholders will lay off her bardic music, and immediately contact her friend who made a coal thrower to tell them about the brutal throw feat. She'd find it completely hilarious that grease can be set on fire now and start experimenting with what devious things can come of that. She'd ponder the UI changes, but since the mention of the dice was still there she'd not thing too much of it since she over the years gets tired of telling people what the dice mean or telling them what they mean only to get a "nod and smile" and no real comprehension from her non D&D friends, who subsequently just ask about every freaking piece of treasure they pick up "which one is better?" when she's in the middle of trying to fend off the back spawns that jumped up after the chest was opened *takes a breath*. She would be veeeeery engaged with the guild changes and start snooping around lamma land to learn what that was all about and start trying to hitch a ride on a ship to see what kind of space it had for rping, because the very first thing she'd do with a boat is throw a yacht party.

Any chance those of us snooping around Lamma could get a little itty bitty teeny weeny response from one of you about our testing and thoughts about all the guild stuff? Preferably in the Feedback: Guild Leveling thread

Classy both in the fact that you responded to this as well as how it was handled. Its nice to see some class in a sea of U5 nerf pandemonium.

Does anyone remember what that protest was for? It was to get a /chair animation so the rpers could sit in a chair. Trust me, you wouldn't want Merlask championing causes she was pretty disinterested unless it had something to do with bards or rping. After reincarnating into Tolero on the other hand, she has to take all these things into consideration and aggregate them, even if they are things she doesn't personally have opinion on. (not that she doesn't have a past life feat that enables her to periodically fold up origami chairs and set them on people's desks)

I don't think that's so much of a personal issue as it is doing it with two distinct personalities...

Reminds me that i am still upset over the auto recall with /death. *sad panda*

But note to some /death completions is interesting. I have 56,789 deaths on my main toon from Dec 2006 to now.
