What is my dex ranger supposed to do in epic now?

With weighted being nerfed big time, what are dex based characters supposed to do in epic? No point in taking stunning blow even if they can spare the feat (even though they probably can't), since the DC would be too low anyway. So my options are to either TR into a strength build, or farm all the stuff on a different character and pass it to the dex build? Bleh! This nerf sucks a lot of fun out of the game.

Regardless of these new changes or not, there are no circumstances where taking a str based fighter or barb wouldn't be better for an epic group than your dex based ranger. Sorry.. the new changes didn't make you an epic piker, you always were one.

I'm well aware epic is largely about DPS (I have other characters for DPS, including a str ranger, 2 barbs, and 3 fighters), and because of that I wouldn't bring my dex ranger to any old epic run, but in certain quests when I knew the other players and their capabilities well enough, I knew I could play him and at least contribute to completing the quest. Obviously I wasn't going to contribute as much as the sorc or the cleric or the barb, but at least I could do something meaningful. Now it's earthgrab or nothing, eh (until that gets nerfed too)? What a disappointment. I guess I have another mule now. Thanks Turbine.

I won't reincarnate into a str based anything, because I have other characters for that. Part of the fun of DDO has been the variety of viable choices, and that part of the fun will die with nerfdate 5.

Yes bash people that take dex because they are gimps.

It is much better for the game if everyone is the same 3 classes/builds. And fun too. I love being the same as 99% of every other build out there and ignoring any degree of variety that the pnp rules used to have and agree everyone should just be cookie cutter copies of each other.

There are six stats, but lets work to make as many of them useless other than strength as possible. That will be really good for the game - it will cut lag if everyone just has two stats instead of six.

Join those of us that think Weapon Finesse needs a boost.

Maybe if you have Weapon Finesse your DCs should be based on Dex instead of Strength?

Maybe Finessed weapons should have a Double Strike Proc Chance based on the Dex(or dex mod) of the character weilding them?

Maybe Dexterity Mod should be added to Critical hits (before multiplier)?

Stan, you need to give away all your stuff, delete everyone, come out to alabama and join our monthly pnp games, and play golf in the interim. Its what I've been doing and working out well for me so far
