As soon as you've realised the group's "new" and assuming you choose to stay ASK if they're willing to accept advice and pointers. I've always found this side-steps problems later. As was said above some people would rather not find out the whole quest as they go through it. Believe it or not everyone doesn't have the game commited to memory yet and want to discover it themselves.

I really wish someone would invent a safe memory-wiping gizmo, imagine being able to forget the whole of DDO and start again. What WW would look like all over again totally new!

So, the point of the post: Ask if the group wants "Vet" help before giving it, it helps, trust me.
Hear hear.....I've been pugging on my cleric from the outset and this is my first toon to level 15. Try and think back to when you first entered the orchard, or the vale.....remember how exciting it was..... now overlay that with one of your party members yelling at you "don't go that way" and "we're going to do x, x and x and that will bring us to the finish where we x" ..... I love doing the higher quests with vets, but a select few just completely take the fun out of it.

My point is (write this down ppl ) "It's all about the journey, not the destination"

I know right? Deep karma maaaaan

i got squelched by a cleric for calling him a blatent blundering imbecil. then dropped him in lava and wand healed the quest as a ranger.

keep at it, people do listen (like me) who depend on knowledgable vets for all the ins and outs of a quest and situation. keep at it

When I am in a quest that I know have optionals that make them take FOREVER, I make sure the group is aware of if we are doing them or not. I seen a group LFM up for tears looking for min. Wisdom. I know they are going for the optionals as well. I for one just want to zerg that quest, get the quick xp and move on, but as it has been said not everyone has ran these quest 1000 plus times. For them it is all new. So I try to ask every party how they want to do it, or if there is anyone not familar with the quest. However when the party agrees to one way, and someone does something else that can be a pain.
