    Default Trapmaking

So my fellow rogues, as soon as i ve learned that U5 was upon us, i run toward the Free Agent vendor and read the guides about trapmaking.

So there are 3 kinds of Traps

    1) Grenades
    2) Mines
    3) Spell Traps

    1)
Grenades will be flasks to launch

you need: traps salvages+Vials (Free agent store)+ Fire elementals soul gems+ Syberis Dragonshards

    2)
Mines will do damages based on your mechanical Skill (Disable device) and do a little extra if you're mecha speced

you need: Traps salvages+ syberis dragonshards

    3)
Spelltraps are based on harmfull spells leves 1-3 (blind, web, hold person...)

you need: Trap salvages+ Spell scrolls (notice the plural)+ Syberys dragon shards

That's the first info i got, i ll let you know what the tests reveal

    See you soon

Grenades look good for us Wiz/Rog as it will be easy to get the soul gems with Trap the Soul.

I am glad damage is based off of DD and not Rogue level.

Yeah, I sensed the same thing the moment the trap idea was discussed.

The only difficult thing I see is flasks. I just hope their output is equal to their input.

Any indication of what the save DCs are based off? Hopefully something 'universal', like Rogue Level or Disable Device Skill...if they use something like Int I think that's a little unfairly in favor of making Assassins the best trapmakers, which doesn't feel quite right.

i think DC is based on disable device, and you got a bonus if your mechanic.

    By the way

    First test

    Sunken Sewer
    6 traps
    On Normal: 6 parts gathered
    On Elite: 9 parts gatherd

    rushing toward Gwylan's
i'll tell you how it comes out.

Donna know... this is looking like more trouble than it will be worth unless the damage is pretty high. Even than...

So are we gonna need Trap Part Bags now? I smell a few new DDO store items....

Maybe we will end up seeing a bunch of high INT Mechanics wielding these:

    +5 Greensteel Heavy Repeating Crossbow (2d8, 19-20/x2) With Shock, +1d6 Electricity, Evil Burst, +1d6 evil, +3d6/4d6/5d6 vs non-evil on crit - Destruction (2/day), Shock Blast (1d10 * (critical multiplier -1) on Critical, + 4d6 on 20) - Trap the Soul (On-Hit, HD 20 or 30 Version)

    Just fragments.

It's the souls that are going to be annoying to get. The only way to get them is to have a friendly wizard help you.

Haven't really been able to test damage so much. But the weak acid trap barely made a dent in the HIPS guards.

I don't thinking you know how right you are...

It looks like Rogue Mechanics now add Int to crossbow damage.

Reading the in-game guide, it sounds like we can use ANY soul stone, which will change the elemental damage around. But it only specifically talks about fire.

Or farming for a Trap the Soul greensteel weapon. Doesn't that only work once, and then you need to rest again?

From the amount that Bunks repeater used to proc I would say that the rate is about the same as a lightning strike going off. And it certainly went off more than once/rest.
