Post Buying NON-MAGICAL quarterstaves for a private collection

Will pay 50 gold per piece, 200 gold for a piece that I don't have yet in the collection. Masterworks get 50 gold on top! Vendor type staff accepted only if masterwork!

Cash on delivery or by mail, seek out Sapeski.

    Good idea.

First they nerf 2WF. Next they will nerf Magical weapons.

YOU WILL HAVE THE MARKET CORNERED!

You are gonna monopolize the Masterwork Staves!

This is against the ToS...adjusting prices! PLAT FARMER!

The only thing that comes to my mind is "Umm... What???".

I don't even know what 2WF is, but this is either a joke I am too stupid to get or something else I'm too stupid to get... I'm not even sure it's worth answering to that. And I'm a roleplayer, not a farmer, thank you very much. Unless I roleplay a farmer, the literal kind. Are there really any rules I have broken? If there are please explain them to me and I will admit I am wrong.

I believe that Bacab was in a sarcastic way trying to ask W T F are you doing that for?

I am wondering the same thing.

I am roleplaying AND I'm just making a collection of the various forms of staves because I like them as a weapon. And I'm searching for non-magical staves because they are actually rarer than magical (and for another set of roleplaying reasons too). Should there be another reason? I just don't care so much for ultra-powerful weapons and skills and builds, I have other ways to make the game fun for myself.

I was pretty clear on the fact that you weren't doing this for a technical or game optimization reason, but I am a curious bird. Please open the door to your psyche for us.

I would honestly like to know the roleplaying reason for a character to collect staves of all sorts. I like backstory on a slow day at the office.

I believe I will go grab some popcorn in anticpation of your story.

    Thanks in advance.

(PS I honestly do want to know - none of the above is sarcasm.)

Sorry for being a bit defensive in my previous post. I was actually provoked to build up some story today when I tried to explain the same thing to a guy in game.

There are two reasons for seeking out simple non-magical weapons, be it common or masterpieces. One is the fact that when wielding such a weapon all that matters for the end result is the skill of the wielder. In this way they are the best weapons to practice with - there is no magic involved to help the wielder hit harder or guide his movements. On the other hand magic again influences the way one perceives an item. The craft of making a staff can be truly appreciated only if the craftsmanship is the only thing you're looking at. Then, the collection becomes also a gathering of masterpieces, pieces of art, and the various forms of the staff heads aid that feeling.

This of course is true for any type of weapon, but as I am a thief-acrobat it's natural that my interest is directed towards the tool I'm training with. Another reason is the fact that I see fighting with a staff as a kind of art with it's own beauty, flowing with the movement of the whole body and using both ends of the weapon, while swinging an axe or sword looks very rough to me. You can see how I started talking from the character's perspective here, and it's because I see myself as the character at some point. That's why I can't write a backstory in third person, it's all 'me' (that sounded a bit self centered... .

I hope that helps you understand me better

Thanks for the storyline - I'll think about make a toon on Sarlona just so I can send you staves.

Hopefully we won't find you on some streetcorner someday selling off you staves to feed your family.

Yes but they only have one type of look so I am guessing that he wants ones that look different from ones at the vendors.

You forget I'm a thief. It's more probable that I rob Lordsmarch Bank through the sewer, dropping part of the loot on the way out and creating a new plot line. Or selling low quality replicas of the staves from the collection as souveniers. But the first is more likely...

At the sarcasm poster - hahahahhahahhahahahhahaha

And to all - I'm glad you like it!
