Default New race: Another repairable one.

I'm thinking it's time to add another race that can allow the use of the repair spells other than warforged. As of right now, most of the people who play DDO use a fleshy-type character. This means only clerics, bards, FvS, etc. can heal themselves for full. I don't think this game should be mainly fleshy.

Although, it could be because it is not a free race.

    What do you think?

    Hmm.....

    Scarecrow?

Honestly, most things are living. It's hard to peg an automoton. Constructs are constructs. Warforged by any other name is still a construct.

MAYBE an elemental race could reap the benefits of a repair spell. I'm talking a pure element where living breathing parts don't move. A living spell race would also be similar to this I guess...

I don't rightly know anything other than golems (warforged/constructs) that would be applicable races from the gaming references, and I know a lot about planar creatures and ecologies.

I would love to see some more living construct races. The only ones I can think of would be:

    1. warforged scout (already mentioned)
    2. psyforged (probably wouldn't work)
    3. shardmind ( a new 4th ed race that is a crystal based living construct. Not sure how they'd translate them.)

It'd be best if they implemented Psionics completely, first, and I don't mean the "+1 Psionic Bonus" from being "Inspired" in the Marketplace during events.

Of course, to do psionics, they'd have to sort out how it works with magic. Is it something different and not subject to Spell Resistance (for example) or the same as magic and just a different "flavor."

I'm all for psionics being included.

Psionics would be a great addition, as far as the abilities would go I would think everything would trigger off a will save or fortitude save. They would have abilities similar to bards, probably no party buffs but I would think charisma and intelligence would be the big attribute scores.

As far as another construct race or something that would have a repair spell, just have the casters carry repair wands or make sure your caster can self repair..

My vote would be for the VW Bug as a playable race. Then we can see how many variants of the name "Herbie" we get. <flashes back to when Drow was released>

For the most part it is just a mana based magic system (which DDO already does), and many abilities mirror spells. Normally Spell resistance and anti-magic work vs. psionics and psionic resistance works vs. spell. There are rules to seperate them but stock psionics work just like spells in PnP.

    Default Psionics and Shardminds

I love DDO and play as a Warforged.

The one thing that I would change would be the implementation of Psionics. I read all the time "how would it interact with magic" and other such daft things. Psionics is not magic. It's not Ki either, or divinely gifted. It is the power of the mind to affect the living world by pure thought and as such would not affect, or be affected by, with any other system.

That being said, any non psionic target would get a massive bonus of double their will save against any psionic power. This is due to them having a closed mind. Other psionics would have a normal will save. This would give the game system the balance that so many people scream about.

I also think that the implementation of a Gem Construct (A Shardmind using the Golem stats) would be a great race to add. They would be a natural at psionics and have an innate +1 bonus to passing the required will checks to beat a persons will save. And gems would be very useful to the Gem Construct Psion as they would store psionic energy basically 1 point for every silver worth. 100 silver value would hold 100 psionic energy points.

I think we need a player race that necromancy spells heal… kind of like this thread.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

First, cetero censeo, Turbine should repair UMD lag (for example) and some other bugs.
After that, I wouldn´t mind if there is some new mechanical race with good vibrations that give happines to the playerbase.

    Question

Are Inevitable Ones constructs, too ?

We already have at least one of them within the game ...
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"
