    Default Lag Reduction Methods?

I have set all of my graphics to the lowest quality possible, and i am still getting sooo much lag, it is making the game unplayable for me. I have a decent computer with a decent video card and Fios high speed internet. What else can I do to decrease lag? all programs are also closed, and i don't think i have any viruses. I am also playing on 800 by 600 windows mode even though my resolution is higher than that.

Lag can be coming from other things..
Background programs running, like anti virus scans etc...
Virtual memory carry over, DDO seems to have some memory bleed, switching toons leads to crashes/slowdowns.
Run ccleaner(or other similar utility)/defrag periodically to clean up your machine periodically.
Start your machine fresh before playing, close other apps not in use.

Lag from the server side can also contribute..

    posted some stuff here..

    essentially..

    First....
    Social Panel.
First Tab- LFM- uncheck the show quests i am not eligble for.( typically a minimal impact)
Third Tab- Friends- Hide offline friends ( minor impact but the more friends...)
Fourth Tab- Who-uncheck the all classes box then click search(essentially search for no one) . Noticable impact

    Second.....
    Options Panel
    UI Settings.
About halfway down under all the colour bar parts.
Check the turn off combat feedbacks.. there are 8-10 of them (down to show player guildnames)

When in DDO check the connection icon for dropped packets, if you are dropping packets then you are losing data and will experience lag. if your connection packet data is good then issue is likely on your pc, if packet data is poor may be DSL/network issue. PCpitstop has some good utilities to check your network packet speeds.
