    Default Water stance revamp needed.

I'd like to see water stance give a bonus to monk special attack DC's, or Jiz bracers water effect give a bonus to special attack DC's instead of a lame para effect.

I personally like the idea of a water monk, like a wise old man or something or someone with 'ancient chinese secrets' of kung fu, or a chi master.

'Cause as of now, wind stance is the only point of a monk, when you boil it down to the most practical stance. and thats kinda lame (imo). and since weighted is the new WoP, it just makes sense to use it even more. Lame.

    /discuss?

Q&A is the business of pointing out others' failures. Optimists need not apply.

eh a total of +2 to your dcs at level 20 is rather weak, especially since it's a side effect... besides water stances main advantage is a bonus to saves which monks don't need or an ac boost while tumbling...I also think they need a different bonus. The bracers should have their dc increased when made epic from 17 to your stunning fist dc.

+1 to DC's isn't getting anyone to use it for anything other than being a tumbling chewtoy though.

Water and Mountain stances could both use looking into. Mountain moreso than Water IMO.

The DR is only significant at the grandmaster stance at 18 - anything prior is easily exceeded or matched with a Robe of Invulnerability. At at 20, the Monk DR of 10/epic exceeds Mountain stance's DR.

Not only that, but getting extra ki if critically hit is redundant since 99.99999% of melee will have 100% fort after level 8 or 9.

well, then lets see it that way:
the sideeffect of waterstance is the + to saves

each stance has its own things
    air: attackspeed
    fire: more ki
    earth: some DR
    water: saves

    each depending on the element

+1dc doesnt fit in any element

dont just say: i want i want

    give a reasoning

air is for combat, water is for traps, fire is for str runes, earth is for the trashcan

    each has its uses

Didn't say I wanted anything. Just stating a fact.
I use it for the reason I stated in my post. As far as I'm concerned water stance has earth stomped for being a defensive stance.
If you want a reason... water flows gracefully... or something

I think Mountain Stance gives extra Ki regardless of your Fortification. Not that it matters, simply because the attack rate of a Monk is around 10x that of a monster.
