Default RIP Slipknot's bassist Paul Gray

Some of you may know that I do news for a news wire, covering stuff in the upper Midwest. The death of Slipknot's bassist in an Iowa hotel today came across my radar, here's a link to the Des Moines Register article about it:

I've got my own calls out to Urbandale police, I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Talked to an investigator, they say it doesnt appear to be a case of foul play, they aren't saying anything at this point about what they have in terms of how he died. Autopsy set for tomorrow.

    Wow... rest in peace, man.
Haven't listened to Slipknot in a while - but used to really like them.

Ive never been much of a Slipknot fan. I never dug the hype or thought that what they were doing was any more groundbreaking than the bands who's basic sound they were emulating. Paul did wind up impressing me though with the work he put in for the Roadrunner 25th show.He was a solid bassist. Not brilliant but solid. I hope he finds his peace. RIP

I was never much of a Slipknot fan but happen to see them a couple times. Once at Ozzfest and once with Lamb of God. I have to admit that they do put on one hell of a show. His passing is a loss.
