Will Airships Affect our Guilds?

With the upcoming addition to DDO with Guild Airships ... I can't help but wonder ... will this affect our beloved Ghallanda guilds?

I happen to have always been part of a smaller guild. Will the allure of the amenities that a larger guild can supply on their airship draw me away?

Perhaps, our guild will merge with another? We already raid with many others on a regular basis.

I think the larger guilds will benefit greatly from the airships but what do you think it means for YOUR guild?

My guild is just five friends from real life. I dunno. We might take at least a toon or two each to real guilds. Either that or try to make ours bigger. We'll see I guess.

I do nto see this really affecting guilds too much in my opinion. For smaller guilds it may take a bit longer to get to the bigger so called better ships for slotted NPCs, but if some people in the smaller guilds are VIP then there is not too much worry given that people can use Turbine points to buy stuff for the guild ship if they choose by using their points earned from favor or from the 500 point monthly allotment (SP?).

I am part of two small guilds and do not see this as an issue for either guild I am in, just something else to pay with in game and grind away at. Will not drive me to join a larger guild just because they have a possibly better airship.

In my belief it will contribute to an air of politics and a reason to be involved with your guildmates beyond just waving the same flag. All in all something that would deepen the relationship between player and his/her online community.

Just hope ship size is not scaled to guild size that way I wont have to worry about my canoe getting smashed.
On a serious note It would be nice if we could drop all our loot in there kind of like a dragon horde. Piles of gold and gems would be awsome.
Maby make a quest were you take your ship through a dragon infested area looking to raid some (secret dragon horde) but if you fail they get your loot. Say the size of the dragon horde could be scaled to how much loot you had on your ship.

ZAM: How difficult will it be for guilds to rank up their renown score?

Paiz: That’s definitely something that we’re still trying to figure out and balance. There is some help for smaller guilds in this system… we don’t want to exclude a guild that might only include four people. We think that’s a totally valid way to play, and we’re trying not to force people to have 50 player guilds. If you’re in a small guild, you’ll get a small boost every time you pick up, what I call, a “renown token” because we want to make sure those guilds are able to get their airships and things like that.

This is a long term play; you’re not supposed to get up to level 25 in a day. This is more of a long term, stay engage with the game, sort of goal.

It'll be harder as a small guild, but sounds still doable.

I understand that smaller guilds still get airships, but this guy builds them. He is pictured below with halfling pilot and a prototype model.
