Friend list problem for friends

All of my friends can not add me to their friend's list even though I can add them to mine. All it says for them is that my character name updated. Does anyone know if this is an option I accidentally turned on or if it is some other issue?

Yeah, his character was on my friends list when we were playing in Korthos. But when we were grouped in Stormreach, he was no longer listed in my friends list.

I tried adding him again, all it said was "Sneaksy updated" but didn't add him to the list.
I even tried exporting the list, adding him manually into the list via Notepad, and then importing it back into the game, and it said all of my friends were updated, including Sneaksy, but he was the only one not listed.

I can /who him, but I can't see him on my list.
