I wanted to take a second and post this humorous story for all to enjoy. I spend most of my time pugging on my characters as my guild is small and the play times are all over the place. Even though pugging is sometimes a headache I generally enjoy it and like the interesting characters you meet along the way. Tonight though, I met somebody that blew my mind in three simple steps.
Step 1:
So, I login tonight and hop on my lvl 10 Monster build. Check my guild, nobody is home. I open up the grouping tab and notice right away "Tempest Spine HARD". I'm a fan of TS and love the fast (generally) xp that I can pull from it. I click the join button and head to House J. A few mintues later the group fills and we head in. Smooth sailing so far as FR is handed out and the group forms up for the haste/go. Wizard McGroupleader happens to be the only arcane in the party. I kindly ask Wiz McG for a haste so we can roll and about thirty seconds later get "no haste" in party chat.
Step 2:
No haste? My "sweet jesus leave this party" alarm was going off but I didn't listen. Random bard multiclass dumps a thirty second haste on us and we're off. Fire/Ice went off without a hitch, aside from a Legolas-fanboy kiting Fire around like a champ. Minutes later I'm killing some drow and taking a bit of damage so I check my buffs. Hmm I don't have blur so I'll ask Wizard McGroupleader for one. I whisper Wiz McG "could I please get a blur?", and again thirty second later I get "no blur". The "sweet jesus leave this party" alarm was still buzzing away somewhere in the distance but I was too blinded by the potential 12k xp to listen.
Step 3:
The final masterpiece performed by our fearless leader was the greatest of all. We progress through the TS at a slow/moderate pace and hit our first locked door. Dun Dun Duh!!! Wiz McG has the star and set the group up him/herself. Wiz McG set the group up without a rogue. Now, in TS you can complete the quest ezpz without a rogue. All you need is one arcane caster with......DOH!! (Knock wasn't in the spellbook of our fearless leader. They weren't aware that you could scribe spells I suppose.)
I should have listened to my alarm.
Somewhere on Khyber there is a lvl 12 wizard that stole 40 minutes of my life tonight. I really hope they enjoy it.
*I wasn't upset, I just couldn't believe that a wizard could miss all three of those spells in the random clicking that must have been their spell selection screens. Granted, knock is only situational. But in this situation it was clutch.
Be careful Khyber, no hasteno blur
