    Default [Build Request] WF Quarterstaff Warchanter

    I was hoping I could get some assistance from the community in creating a quarterstaff wielding Warchanter. I don't have access to any stat tomes and I am a Free-To-Play player. My main issue is deciding what feats I should take at what level.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Thanks in advance, and forgive me if this is not the correct thread to request a build)

    You may want to just take Master's Touch and use something like a greataxe if ur going the Two-Handed Fighting line.

    Qstaff can be a fallback weapon if ur fighting something that Dispels buffs.

    If ur going pure....

    1st Weapon Focus: Slashing or Bludgeoning
    3rd Toughness
    6th Power Attack
    9th Improved Critical: Slashing or Bludgeoning
    12 Two Handed Fighting
    15 Improved Two Handed Fighting
    18 Greater Two Handed Fighting

    I would suggest maybe making a human for the bonus feat at level 1 and taking Extend.

    Most Warchanters are not about offensive spellcasting and concentrate more on their melee abilities.......there is one worth taking tho.......Otto's Irresistable Dance....Level 6 spell.

    If ur pure and u take the capstone ur spell pen. will be high enough to land it and there is no save on it...so your DC won't be a factor.

    I may have missed something here and there...I'm sure more will chime in soon.

    Can you elaborate a little more about how you envision playing this character or goals for the build? Generally speaking Quarterstaves are considered low damage weapons and are used most proficiently by Rogue Acrobats. Did you just want to swing a two handed weapon or are you attracted to staves and a bard specifically? Although something like 14bard/6 rogue Warchanter Acrobat might be kind of fun.

    Well, I chose quarterstaff for two reasons... I don't want to spend a feat on more proficiencies and I'm not sure using master's touch is worth using a spell slot...

    The bard would be mainly for the Inspire Courge, and enough combat ability to take out the trash (mobs)! I would like to stay pure if at all possible.

    If Human isn't the race of choice, I think I would probably take extend over GTHF. I think an expectation of a pure bard (almost any bard) is that they will buff, and those hastes, displaces, rages, really benefit from the extend.

    I don't think they dps drop would be massive from sacrificing GTHF, not as large as GTWF, although I could be wrong. Other than that, I think your feat selection is spot on.

    It is.

    It causes lag on casting and expiring, which is annoying at levels 1 and 2, but by 3rd level, with a 6 minute duration, it becomes a lot less irritating.

    If you want to kill stuff, and you don't have a particular love for quarterstaffs, use Master's Touch and pick up a two hander.

    Starting stats (28pt) Human:
    Str: 18---> level ups
    Con: 14
    Int: 8
    Wis: 8
    Dex: 8
    Cha: 14----> can drop this and raise other stats if you are comfortable with how spells work and how UMD works.

    Of course, if you want a pure, melee dps Bard, going twf would be the way to go (easier if 32 pt).

    HUman 32pt
    Str: 18---->level ups
    Dex: 15-----> need +2 tome for ITWF/GTWF
    con: 14-15
    Int: 8
    Wis: 8
    Cha: 8-10 depending on con

    Feats:
    1) Toughness
    1) Extend
    3) Weapon Focus
    6) Power ATtack
    9) TWF
    12) ITWF
    15) Improve Crit
    18) GTWF

    Yeah...Extend is really really nice, if ur making a DPS build...human is pretty much the best race selection....for the extra skill point and feat and the ability to raise your STR and Con by one each thru the enhancement line......plus you'll be able to take healing AMP to benefit more from your own and other peoples heals.

    If u make sure to keep ur UMD and Perfom ranks maxxed...which btw you will definately want to...neither of those will really suffer from having a low Charisma.
